This kind of looks like the new low price. It's been this price since Nov 19th of 2024.

Who's dumb enough to buy kobalt pliers for $30 on ebay. I get it everybody needs to fulfill their own satisfaction in life. it's a free market, whatever. businesses do it, and so on and so forth. but buying cheap goods practically depleting the inventory for everyone else and then reselling them at a higher price is always a scummy practice in my book. As you can I tell i have a strong dislike towards resellers that have no shame. I love when it backfires. (for example: the hoarders of merdical supplies during covid)

Is it just me, or do these pliers look a little snobby?
You know, with their noses up in the air..!

I barely use pliers but appreciate good ones. My question for myself is, these or the kobalt clearance ones for 3.97

I bought the Kobalt. Figured for me it's better to see if I like the cheap ones before buying expensive ones and ensure they'd get enough use. The Kobalt quality seems surprisingly good too.

The Kobalt but do keep in mind they are smaller than these. That being said I have found tons of use for them with them being that size and keep a set in the kitchen drawer. The Kobalts are surprisingly nice and I am flipping them for near $30 on Ebay.

If you think you may have to do more serious work the Knipex are top of the line yet as a home improvement contractor and all around handyman(mechanic, plumber, electrician, carpenter, etc) I survived most of a lifetime without them and hardly noticed. Times were rare where their performance may have been needed and did fine with much cheaper pliers and tools. Even having a few pairs I still often just grab a cheap set of pliers to do most tasks.

I found the same surprisingly nice fit, finish and operation. Think with the small size you will find more uses than you imagine and they will stand up to it. If you plan on taking up commercial plumbing the Knipex may be the right choice. I imagine for most people that just need some pliers being able to get the cobra design at such a cut right price is great upgrade to their life. The cobra design did make me want to get rid of all my pivot and groove joint pliers as it just works so much better.

I bought a Kobalt tool kit on clearance at Lowe's one time, 3 tools for just $10. At first, they looked ok and worked fine, but after a year, they got rusty. They still work, though. Knipex tools are on a whole different level. I've used them daily for two years, and they're still like brand new. The quality is insane, and the design is way better. They feel so much better to use, and they're thinner, so I can reach tight spots no problem. They can't be beat.

Careful buying these from Amazon. Bought a pair of the pliers just today and got a set of used, dirty, cheap Kobalts in the package. Always check for an LPN sticker on the box.

Scummy thing for someone to do but shame on Amazon for not catching it.

I like Irwin when they go on sale. Seems like a nice middle ground, but the Kobalt could be just as good. I've just never owned any Kobalt.
