Why would you thumb down a deal that clearly says YMMV? Such behavior discourages others from posting items that may be available for some and not for others. Unless of course, you feel $1,999 isn't a good price for a $5,499 item, for those that can find it.

Bought 5 of them for my business all 5 broken with 6 months and no repair shop local that works on them which a waste of money I ended up buying Toro z turn replacements that have good customer service

It's slick cause of the price compared to what it normally sells for, not because of how it compares in your mind to another product

Not defending the product, but a commercial mower is normally completely different than residential. Residential would see at most a few hours a week. Commercial would see nearly a year of residential use in 1-2 weeks. Buy the right product for your needs.

Probably just bs'ing. Have never seen a commercial person use electric for mowing.. other things sure, but not mowing.

While cool there is nothing slick about these. In five years half of these will be at the dump. Even a basic gas rider will last two decades if stored indoors and maintained (oil and belt changes). And before you say I'm an electric hater I'm on my third electric car and have a bunch of cordless yard tools.
These haven't been around for more than a few years, why would you think they will not last 5 years? No oil changes, no belts, no filters. It's a much simpler machine with fewer points of failure than a gas engine powered mower. Chances are the batteries will start to lose capacity but there's much less maintenance as a trade off.

I'm going on 15 years with my Craftsman gas mower and it's still going strong. I think the next will be an electric because the convenience and lower noise of battery tools has had me switching all of my outdoor equipment over to battery cordless tools, and the mower is the last piece of equipment that still has me dealing with winterizing and oil changes.

I don't see any in NY
Went in to a store that had three listed. They did have three. They had all been stored outside and looked awful. They have more than 20 in the greater Charlotte area. They are unable to ship them from Ego / new stock any longer, she said. She can ship one to my house, but it would pull from the inventory they have, which looks awful.

Please explain the economic logic of this machine to me. I use a Honda gas mower that I paid about $400 9 years ago. It has given me flawless performance that I expect to continue for at least another 10 years. I am also heavily invested in EGO lawn tools (four) including my favorite (edger), blower, hedger, and trimmer (the worst). I own three (3) batteries. Unfortunately, the first battery is now dead at 4 years of intermittent use.

So, economically, I could purchase (if I needed one) a new Honda mower for about $600 OR I could purchase this machine for $2,000. The 10Ah batteries that come with this unit run about $400+ each. When the batteries start dying in 4+ years the costs will be even higher. Assuming (perhaps incorrectly) that the batteries all fail at about the same time, and (again) assuming that the mower is still useable at that time, the cost to replace all four batteries will be about $1,700 ... assuming that prices do not rise.

So, to summarize ... $2,000 for upfront costs PLUS an additional $1,700 every 4-5 years. The total cost of ownership of this mower will be $2,000 + $1,700 (year 5 replacement + $1,700 (year 10 replacement for a total of approximately $5,400 vice $600 for a new Honda mower plus new spark plugs and oil changes (incidentals).
Where are you buying Honda riding mower for $600. And why are you only trolling and not sharing?

This is obviously a good deal. Shame on those people who downvoted the original thread, because it was an in store deal that they didn't want to put the work in on. I appreciate people posting these deals, so I can at least check if I can get an amazing deal.

Anyone who doesn't think this deal is worth it at 1,999, obviously doesn't know their pricing…batteries and charger are worth almost the price of this alone.

The time it took for him to type all that out with barely understanding what the product is meant for is amazing, and shows it's barely worth responding to him. Not sure he'd understand anything you said, including the above.
