Had these and the coating peels off into your food after a year or so. Not worth it imo

Stainless steel. Use the right oil and temp and you'll get long lasting non-stick. A quality set will last forever. Non-stick garbage can't be reseasoned so just ends up in a landfill. Cast iron another good choice
The extra oil needed to cook with stainless steel will probably kill you faster. And not everything can be cooked with low cholesterol oil.

stay away from non stick coating cookware period.

stainless steel, carbon steel or cast iron is so much better for the finished product (you can actually sear/heat them up to higher heat without worrying about off gasses or the nonstick coating failing. once you make the leap you'll be wondering why you waited so long

as a cancer survivor, don't take the risk on yours and your family's health.

I too had issues with nonstick pans chipping and scratching way sooner than should've happened. I switched to plastic or wood utensils and still had issues which made no sense because no matter how hard I tried I couldn't scratch a pan with my plastic spatula. It bothered the heck out of me until one day I learned about 'pan protectors.' I didn't end up buying any but wanted to give the concept a try anyway so I bought a nice set of nonstick pots and a different brand of pans and put a sheet of paper towel between each one before stacking them under my cabinet. It's been three years since I bought those and there is not one scratch or chip in any of them. Either I found the perfect pots and pans or it was the bottoms of the pans rubbing and banging on each other as I put them away and took them out that had been causing all the damage to the surface this whole time.

tl;dr: Buy 'pan protectors' and put them between your pans before you stack them in your cabinet to keep that nonstock finish looking new for a long time.

These are fine enough if you're careful with the coatings. I've got a couple of these pans that I use for eggs or things that don't work as well in stainless. I have a full stainless Tramontina set that I got from Costco a few years ago that I love along with a few All Clad that work really well. As long as you're not using metal crap in it and you're not banging them around in your cabinet without proper protection with nesting, these should last a while. I just rather use stainless for most of my cooking because I can be rough and not care as much and it's perfect. You'll pay a little more up front for a good stainless set, but they'll last quite a bit longer than any nonstick. I rarely pull out any nonstick pan anymore and most of them live up in the attic now.

Do you cook with olive or essential oils?

This set works fine, but you need to make sure you are storing them properly (i.e. not on top of one another as they will scratch) and not using metal utensils on them. It says you can, but it lies.

I agree with others, get stainless steel and use them properly or you will be buying a new set in 2-3yrs (or sooner).

Viking Contemporary can be found at Marshalls type stores for around $30-40 per pan, depending on size. I used these daily and they are quite nice and very durable. Otherwise I have heard good things of Made in Brazil Tramontina...but not the made in China variant. Costco can be either or, but I believe amazon and wayfair have the "made in Brazil" versions.

Someone thumbing down someone else's experience is just ignorance. I had these too and they also peeled. The company did replace them for free but it doesn't change the fact that they started peeling after a year. Went to stainless never look back.
Agreed and same with the peeling

Yep. I had mine replaced under warranty twice. Third time I was done. They're great pans but they did change the rules:

- can't heat them above medium heat
- can no longer use metal utensils
- can no longer stack them

The edges tend to peel, and the pots tend to blister on the bottom.

PTFE, PFAS and all the other chemicals in that family will be banned in the EU first, then in the States a year or two after.

Don't let the chemical companies fool you into thinking that "I just need them for eggs!" or any other nonsense.

Restaurants and experienced home cooks don't use non-stick pans, and they cook 1000s of eggs a day.

Ditch plastic cooking utensils and plastic coated pans.

It will take you a couple of weeks to learn how to cook, and then you are set for life with a single set of Stainless, Cast Iron or Carbon Steel cookware.

Wait until you see the fond you create once you ditch the plastic...

Don't want to hijack, but why not buy Ninja Ceramic which is non-toxic and same price?

People who buy non-stick sets probably closely overlap with those that still consume margarine instead of butter

Both of my stock pots are failing. One is bubbling and the other is flaking.

They were great while they lasted, almost exactly a year, and I'm going to have them replaced under warranty hopefully but I would probably go cast iron if I had it to do again.

Non-stick sauce pan is so unnecessary. Get a 8 inch and 10 inch non stick pans, save your money to buy a carbon steel pan.

Stainless steel pans are very hard to use unless you know what you're doing. And they ain't cheap. Using SS pan to fry an egg, it can be done but needs practice. Use the right pan for the right dish. Egg goes to non-stick pans, meat goes to carbon steel, vegetables: SS. A good cook will have all those pans.
