This activates on Steam and you can run it natively on Macs. I've run it well on a base (8GB of RAM) M1 MacBook Air.

Sure. It's not the best one (5 is better) but go try for $3.

Yes. I've been playing the Civilization games since the original one was released. VI is my favorite version. It's better with the expansion packs though.

I have a Mac, so let me ask the braintrust... Is there an easy way to run their PC games on a Mac without using Parallels?

I've not tried others - but Civ is available native on a Mac on Steam (V, VI and the upcoming release, VIII). Your performance may vary (especially with larger maps/higher settings) but it's plenty solid on any relatively recent Mac.

Nothing close. Civ VI is turn-based, you wont get any action like AOE.

Is it worth dropping the extra $7 for the platinum edition, which includes the expansions? I've never played Civ before but I figured I'd add it to my account in case anyone on my family account would like it.

Definitely worth the $3. 3 weeks ago, Steam had the anthology for $7.60.
Also, to clarify. Anthology includes everything for Civ 6. Platinum excludes the New Frontier Pass and the Leader Passes.
