The place where security reinforcement needs to begin is on the strike plate. They are usually mounted with 3/4" screws into the flimsy wood of the door jamb. Very easily kicked in.

At the very least, the screws need to be replaced with 3" screws sunk into the actual framing. Same for the hinges. A solid double strike plate mounted with those 3" screws would be best. Then add the reinforcement such as the one in this thread.
