"The camera is solid. Unfortunately Rove decided to play a misleading game which I think is unethical. This camera uses the Starvis2 IMX675 sensor which IS NOT 4K. They then upscale the image by doubling the pixels before the frame is recorded. So while the recorded video is 4K, the sensor only recorded 1440P which is what matters most."
Update: We contacted CS and they sent us the files. Loaded to the SD card and it started working again. I think because of the firmware issue. So, we kept both units for now!

Yep, there's a reason most of the decent, true 4K cameras are $200 or more.
The Viofo A229 Pro is currently on sale for $280 and does true 4K on the front camera, while the rear camera is 1440P. It also comes with a lens upgrade that enhances the image quite a bit over many other cameras.
But if you need something a little more affordable and don't mind going with a STARVIS over the STARVIS 2, Redtiger has a 4K camera around the same price as this Rove. It comes with way more features and there's an optional bundle with a rear camera for not much more.
Sure, there's technically better quality options like the far superior Viofo 119 Mini 2 for ~$125. The problem is that's also 1440p, records only the front, on top of Viofo's app being absolute atrocious which kind of defeats relying on this for frequent use unless you're ok constantly removing the SD card for access. Whereas the Rove 2K 4K Dual at least has similar quality, but includes 2 cameras instead of 1 as well as an app that while imperfect, appears way more reliable than Viofo's.
Honestly, the only real issue I saw on ROVE cams after many video comparisons seems to be their video processing could be better to capture license plates from afar. But given how minor a difference that is and how much cameras struggle capturing license plates anyway, ROVE seemed to be a decent buy.
Also, the 4K Pro is definitely better quality wise, but it's a single camera system and at that point you might want the Viofo A119 Mini 2
