As of January 1, 2025, Investment metals like gold bars and silver coins will no longer be subject to New Jersey sales tax, under a bill Gov. Phil Murphy (D) signed Thursday. The exemption is limited to bullion sales of at least $1,000, and doesn't apply to the sale of jewelry, arts, or commemorative medallions.
