I used this on my daughter's toy jeep. I added a lfp battery and it works great. The kids would never plug it in.

I use it to power my exhaust fan in the shed. Keeps drawing out the heat in the summer time

25W is pretty decent way to get into this

Buy a cheap lifepo4 battery with it as well. I use mine to power a tp-link tapo camera indefinitely (it uses ~4Wh, so ~100W total per day); 25W solar panel gets ~4 to 6 hours of sunlight, so at 80% efficiency, looking at 6*20 = ~120W per day.
so you should be able to power a 4w-5w device "indefinitely"
4-5w devices include things like cellphone running a basic app, usb string lights, usb fans. (basically all the random usb devices)
My raspberry pi server tends to use ~11w-15w due to it also powering hard drives, so I use that with a 200W solar panel and a 100ah battery.

the math is not quite realistic

if you expect no downtime, the panel / battery would need to be way oversized. The panel is probably not at optimal angle for a good part of the day, and you might get a few overcast days in a row. I don't think 25W is sufficient for stuff that require a consistent 5W power draw

I bought one of these exact kits a while back. The charger arrived dead. The panel was providing power according to my meter. Support made me film a video of my meter on the panel as well as pics of the meter on the output side of the charge controller ports. They sent me another charge controller that also seemed to have issues. I gave up. I'll just buy the one HF sells when I get tired of having a dead battery on my mower.

Well it's a 25 watt panel. So assuming 4-5 bright sunny hours you could store ~100 watt-hours. So you could run a 10 watt light for 10 hours at night for example. You could run something less than 3-4 watts 24 hours maybe.

You need a battery. The controller stores the solar in the battery so you can power your pump! Maybe you can plug the solar panel directly to your pump and it will get ~18 volts when it's sunny? But that's not the intended purpose.
