nope. it's why these are not popular. The starlock are good though. But for 99% of the other tools can get cheap "carbide" regular blades on amazon. I was cutting nails with ezarc carbide on brushless worx, my father in law with bosch starlock. I felt there was a very slight speed advantage with his but it was minor.

And i like bosch but big mistake with these. Now the xlock on angle grinder those are time savers i can see. But too many quick change oscillating tools.

Blades are a bit pricey but for an occasional user like me this is an excellent option.

Proprietary expensive blades that are not compatible with anything else on the market. This is a throwaway tool.

Is Dewalt xr or milwaukee brushless a better choice with respect to blades? New to oscillating tools.

Starlock is great, much better than the other systems and the blades are very well made. I have two Bosch tools like this, one with and one without starlock.
Many amazon universal kits have a starlock adapter. TBH I have a lot of universal blades but only use them when Im gonna trash the blade on a hard job….starlock is that much better IMO.

Starlock (and Starlock Plus) is a superior patented design, but the proprietary pricing can be ridiculous. There is a Swiss-made Bosch universal adapter, but I don't think Bosch sells them anymore. That said, I own a Bosch multi-tool, and I ended up buying Starlock design blades from Ali-Express. The quality was pretty good, but generic Ali-Express isn't going to be as good as a genuine Fein Starlock or Bosch Starlock blades.

Good ideas. Any model for that Swiss adapter? What's the typical pricing at ali for blades?

As far as Ali-Express, just go to the website and search "starlock blades" and you'll see a whole s-load of them. The brand I bought was "NewOne." It appears there are a bunch of NewOne blades on Ali-Express. Just a note - bought a bunch of them, but I've never used them. So, they appear to be high quality, but I can't give you any review beyond that.

Here's a link to one on eBay [ebay.com] that's available right now - same one I bought. Mine was $7, and this one is a little over $8, so decent price for something not easy to find. Thanks a lot. So you install the adapter once and it stays in place? Or you install with every blade change? And it fits all universal blades?

edit: listing is confusing.. says it's for using bosch blades on other tools. you sure it works other way?

Sure, you're welcome. The adapter is loose fitting, and then the Starlock system tightens the blade and adapter, together. So, you'll have to handle it each time you replace the blade unless you buy Starlock designed blades that don't require the universal adapter.

EDIT - sorry, just realized that adapter will NOT work. My bad. Actually, I'd steer clear of any adapters with Starlock and just buy either the genuine blades (Fein has some that are fairly inexpensive in a multi pack) or just buy them off Ali-Express.

I have the DeWalt XR, qnd had the Milwaukee M12 and Ridgid 18V, their designs accept *almost* all blades.

You've linked an adapter for attaching Bosch blades onto other oscillating tools.

Not for generic blades onto a Bosch tool.
