Also, the poster is newish so might not know this, but "$ off" or "% off" posts aren't done here because they're not useful. It doesn't mean anything, and those offers are often deceptive.

At least one of the prices should be in the title and in the post. So it may be how the post was done, and the fact that it wasted a lot of peoples time, as much as this specific deal

I used deluxe with a home based business and also buying & selling stock.
TT Deluxe may tell you while entering info you should upgrade to Premier. Just ignore and proceed with Deluxe

This Costco offer for TurboTax Deluxe + State at $45 ($56-$11) is essentially the same as the Amazon offer in the link from last year but includes a $10 TurboTax credit (e.g. to e-file state taxes) instead of a $10 gift card.

How much you want to bet that Amazon posts its sale the day Costco's offer goes live.

I am expecting the same or better price in Amazon tomorrow, similar to Thanksgiving!

Let me know when the home and business version is $65 again
Well Chase cards and accounts has $20 back on $39 charge and then the Intuit site shows the download at $90, which makes it $70 net. I'm looking for better.

For TT, the business version does NOTinclude personal. You have to buy the personal in addition. What's more, the business is only the federal return. If you want a state return, you have to pay extra for that (maybe $50?) **** H&R Block has a bundle (on sale at Newegg for $45) that will handle both business and personal. I believe it includes states for both. That's way cheaper. **** And yet I'll be buying both from TT and gritting my teeth over the much higher price. If you have a straight-forward return, H&R Block is as good as TT. But if you have complicated stuff (someone mentioned ESPP, which applies to my wife, and I have rental income in addition to QSBS capital gains), my experience is that H&R Block doesn't handle it as well. And when it comes to Trusts and Estates returns (which is covered by the business software), H&R Block is basically little more than an electronic version of the IRS forms . . . and a buggy version at that. Believe me, I'd love to find a cheaper option than TT, but for complicated returns, it's better than H&R (and still much cheaper than hiring an accountant.) **** Note that TT is still not perfect. TT doesn't do everything. For example, I got a form 8986 in 2024 that Turbotax won't be able to handle and I'll have to do it manually (and that means no e-filing). But I can't imagine there's any way that H&R Block will handle it either . . . in my experience, it's much less sophisticated on these kinds of things, so I'll do my best with TT and make manual adjustments. **** P.S. If Amazon price matches tomorrow (fingers crossed), you should be able to use no-rush credits on the versions without a $10 gift card, but you won't be able to do that if you want to buy the version with a $10 gift card. For me, I've been stockpiling no-rush credits just for this, so I'll take the $10 hit and buy the software only version.
Totally appreciate your super detailed response. Yes one thing I realized in the last 20+ years is TT>HR

What I meant is TaxFreeUSA is completely free with for Federal efiling, regardless of income. The state efiling would cost money if you pass certain threshold.
Hi,

How is TaxFreeUSA if you have stocks, and ESPP? That's my main reason for needing TT. Especially for the ESPP portion

I have a full time job and do Uber and made like $200 in stocks last year. Will deluxe + state be the choice for me?

Pay a CPA to deal with the aggravation. They love this stuff.

I thought about that but I also hate to relinquish control and want to check every single number.

Being a CPA would be my nightmare job, next to funeral director and coal miner.

If you buy from costco, make sure to save a copy of the installer. The costco download link will eventually break.

Does the business version include personal also? Or do I have to buy a business version and a personal one?

You need both unfortunately. Business is completely separate.

My business is super simple barely with any income. But I still need the dedicated business version. Home and Business does personal and a simple single-member LLC. But if you elected S corp, like I did, you need the Business.

This is still $10 higher than Costco? (Deal that starts tomorrow)
sorry that link was from another thread (from Nov) that just came back alive. Maybe they will drop another $10 tomorrow when Costco's deal goes live

Price is higher than previous years. One $10 Credit Towards In-Product Add-Ons used to be a $10 Amazon GC in the past. So $48 is not a good deal.
What doesnt cost more than previous years? Steak, bacon, milk, eggs, ....
