Yep, I was right. It's the Melody Ranch in Placerita Canyon.
If anybody has information on boycotts being planned, please let me know. I know we all love shopping, but I still feel boycotts are one of the best ways to make a point.

You are right about Target probably being better for workers and for the community than Walmart. I got the impression that voters/the normal public/people were more disappointed with Target than with Walmart because they always knew Walmart wasn't a great company. Target gave the impression that they were very progressive and supportive of diversity and then capitulated to Trump so easily. I could be wrong, but that's what I thought.
I know I have it easy as an East Coast Liberal. There are plenty of grocery stores so we don't do our grocery shopping at Walmart or Target. And everything is so close together that if you don't like one place you just go to another. When the kids were younger we were always in Target for toys and to look around. Sometimes my husband goes to Walmart for automotive stuff. But generally, we don't go to either very much anymore.
As for the dollar stores (Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, Dollar General)...I never used to go. I didn't understand the stores (didn't realize they were chains and had heard those news stories about fake toothpaste in dollar stores and just generally avoided them). Husband encouraged me to check them out and they are easy sometimes. Also Dollar General and Dollar Tree are the only places I can find the cat litter I like anymore (cheaper store brand where the pieces are a little bit bigger and less dusty, 20 lb. bag), so there is that.
So yes, I totally get your points, but I still think boycotts are the way to go.

So many stores are not great for a variety of reasons, so I have decided I just have to do what I have to do to save what I can for my family.

Other than an all store boycott on July 4th, I don't think there are any specific dates scheduled. Organizers did call for a permanent boycott of Target, I think for the exact reasons you mentioned. The last I read up on it, the boycotts have had a negative impact on Target.

With Target, I almost always have a bad experience so I hardly ever go there. I did two Huggies baby wipes deals last year (because Target was so much cheaper than everybody else) so I have $60 in Target gift cards that I need to spend. I decided to use my $60 on things I need that Target has the lowest price on like generic baby aspirin, extra strength acetaminophen, and acid reflux medicine. I don't shop at Target for groceries or big ticket items.
This isn't a hard boycott for me. I do minimal business with Target and Walmart and no business with Amazon and Nestle. The only General Mills product that I've bought this year is Nature Valley but only a few packages.
Edit: I just finished it. One of the best things that I've ever seen. Totally heartbreaking.
Burger King still sends out a sheet of coupons in the Thursday flyers in this area. Those coupons tend to be better than the app deals, but I don't know if they accept them at all Burger Kings. I personally boycott Amazon, but not because I hate them or anything. I just don't like that they have a monopoly on almost everything now. So I just don't use them.
I didn't know about the July 4th shopping blackout but I will participate! I agree though, at this point we do have to look out for our own families, friends, and communities. And cats. I might not love Dollar General and Family Dollar, but they have the cat litter I want! It is a balance.
