This thing is a million times better than those usb thumb drives or microsd cards.
They are actually also very small and easy to carry around, I have a few of them and love them.
I've pretty much abandoned all my usb sticks, no matter how high end they are, they cannot even touch the perormance and reliability of a real ssd like this one.

I ordered the X9 Pro and while it's physically smaller than the Samsung T7, I think I prefer the full metal body of the Samsung, it just feels better built. And the pricing and performance are similar between the two. Also the Samsung includes a USBA and USBC cable, whereas this only includes an even shorter USBC.

I didn't know anyone tried to compare a thumb drive or SD card to an SSD. That's like comparing my Camry to a 911 and saying "the Camry cannot touch the performance of a real sports car."

I'm still waiting on my X9 Pro 2TB from Amazon's deal on this 2 weeks ago. My delivery date is still Jan 29-Feb 1, but if I order now (for the same price) I can get it in 2 days. How the hell does that work!?
Magic?

For anyone considering the 4TB version, MicroCenter has X10 4TB for $220. https://www.microcenter.com/produ...tate-drive
If you have USB 3.2 (Gen 2x2 Type-C) it has double the read/write speeds of the X9.

I can't give a technical answer as to the reason why wiser heads than my own can weigh in on this Smilie

I will say - different product I know but.. for my cheap $12 sabrent usb 2.5 ssd drive enclosure with it's usb 3.0 port I notice the transfer rate of copying files is much faster than my usb 3.0 speed thumb drives. I'm guessing for the crucial X9 the speed would be at least as good if not better (I repurposed an ancient 240 GB ssd drive that was sitting around doing nothing and put it in my sabrent enclosure).

Sony doesn't support running games from external storage on the PS5 (no idea about Xbox)

thanks for posting this OP Smilie

There's a negative review (it's the first one that comes up if you tell amazon to let you look at the negative reviews only - which can be surprisingly helpful in terms of telling you about a product's shortcomings and what to watch out for) by Miltz that gives a lot of useful info. Not sure if it's worth ordering a longer/better usb cable too based on Miltz's review or just trying the cable the drive ships with and see if it works out for you.

Samsung Pro Ultimate (pretty fast for an SD card) writes at 200 MB/s
The X9 Pro (here) writes at > 1000 MB/s (the X10 version someone mentioned it twice that fast).

If Mylio is important for you, then buy it from amazon. Couple of weeks when it was on deal on both amazon and bestbuy, I bought it from BB. After unpacking and I did not see any code for Mylio. When I chatted with Crucial CS, I was told this is available only for drives sold on Amazon.

Absolutely, it works on my Macbook pro m4 pro. You will need to format it to exfat if you plan on using it for both PC and Mac or just do APFS if just mac.

I ordered some vacuum cable from amazon. Was supposed to be here in 2 days. It got delayed. After 2 weeks I messaged them say wtf, it shows I can get it the same day. They said it's not in a local warehouse so it's taking longer. Still made no sense since they could at least ship it. Gave me a $5 gift card for trouble and said it would ship in 2 days. Of course it didn't. Next week I said fark it, and added it again to my next order. Magically the other one shipped with this new order. I'm just going to return the extra one. Made no sense. I couldn't cancel original order online since it said I had to contact cs.
