They are actually also very small and easy to carry around, I have a few of them and love them.
I've pretty much abandoned all my usb sticks, no matter how high end they are, they cannot even touch the perormance and reliability of a real ssd like this one.

They all do "some unit of speed per second" but there is clearly an abundance of education lacking on the topic if you expect SSD performance from a microSD or expect 911 driving experience from a Camry.
This would work to store games and move to internal which is much faster than re-downloading them. You can play older non series Xbox games from this, not sure about PS, but for new games can only store.

I read a review about a photographer being upset at how this drive no longer mounts and lost all high profile photos. It's tough to recover from.
When it comes to data failure, it's a matter of when, not if. Prepare accordingly.
Couple hundred bucks and you can build a basic 2 drive mirrored NAS. Totally worth the price to have data redundancy in a failure.
Using this drive to work off of would be great, don't use it as your sole source of archival storage.
