No, everything IS up charged, that's literally how instacart makes money.

Costco same day works out cheaper if you don't have instacart plus !
If you have Instacart+, once you add it to your Costco sameday account, you see slightly lower prices on every product than you would've otherwise. Even with this, it would still be more expensive than in-store prices.
Now, you get to make use of the $15 off $50 coupon (yet to be live) and use Instacart credits (bought paying $80 for $100 worth credits). You'd also be on the hook for a tip. Summarizing,
Cost of individual products - Increased price
Delivery fees - Nil
Tip - Extra cost
$15 off $50 - reduces price
20% discount if purchasing Instacart GC in Costco.com - reduces price
All things considered, you'd spend slightly lesser than in-store prices, while shopping from the convenience of home, assuming your cart total is just above $50.
Your lead is insurmountable, you win the internets today.

Do u have a business and make tons of money? If not, ur time worth nothing. U probably waste most of time, anyway
I figure this will save them the trip on the subway to Brooklyn Costco.
I have to note this,
your left over balance will stay on sameday.cotso.com website.
Your left over balance will not cross workedd with instacart.com or app.
It seems bit weird as both website and apps are running under instacart,
but your balance and purchases are not shared each other.
So, you may end up leave $50 left over in sameday website and use on next discount deal
So would it be better to redeem the gift cards via Instacart directly or the Costco same day portal?
Edit: It is because I'm illiterate and didn't see that the promo hasn't started yet.
2. However, you have to think that Costco sells $100 instacart gift card at the same time.
3. you can purchase max 2 - $100 GCs from costco.com per each week.
Website says 2 per member, but seems system gives no fark if you purchase per week.

4. if you are purchasing in store, its really no limitation
( you can purchase 2 per transaction, but you can purchase multiple times and store worker seems they never give fark)
5. so all-in-all with 15%~20% periodic coupon, you are actually save more money PLUS, you will get the item to your door.
like me, Store is like 20 miles away, so even with the tips giving to the driver it is actually worth it
( no waiting in line, no need to drive 40mile ( rough 1.5~2gal gas wasted), and no need to spend time in store.)

Wrong and wrong.
If you link your costo membership a majority of the items are store price. If you don't have a membership you don't get membership prices. Go figure.
Instacart makes their money from collecting 15+% of the bill from the stores. If you see a price higher than in store it's the merchant setting it, not Instacart.
Some stores upcharge a lot. Some a little. Some not at all. Each business has analysts and algorithms that determine the best price point for their business through Instacart the same way they price things in their own store. What Instacart charges is a small part of the equation. They are making money even if they paid 50%.
People think stores upcharge to 'compensate for fees'. No. They pick a price point that gives them the best return on their money. The formula is something like this. X = # of customers * price - cost. Maximize X. Adjust price up and customers go down but your average profit per order goes up.
But it's actually more complicated than that. More like X= # of customers * price - cost minus losing some profit when some customers would have come to store without delivery (and not pay the 15% fee to Instacart ) + business they wouldn't have had if they couldn't get it delivered etc. the list goes on.
This is what the analysts at companies do for a living. None of them are saying oh we gotta pay Instacart 15% so we will raise our prices 15% unless they are the worst analysts ever. They set a price point based on customers willingness to pay at certain price points and maximize their profits I'll admit some places have terrible analysts and that's what they do but not Costco. They have some of the best talent out there in corporate.
