True, but without this you pay more, that's the whole point. Not everyone can go out to restaurants based on weather and commute availability.

I do this at various places in town. Basically a flat 20-25% off most things (20% because i use doordash gift cards the same way)

Do you keep receiving juicy promos if you have a gift card balance?
Unless you value your time at $10 an hour it's cost effective to just have it delivered. Math is more favorable if you're at home and would need to drive there. If you're out and about it's a toss up which is better value but my experience is that a lot of the time orders aren't ready or there's a lot of unforeseen things that waste time. Having the food delivered to your door removes all of them.

yes I observed that. once. my gift card balance is spent, they started giving promos again.
For what it's worth I get promos still and I've had a gift card balance for at least a month. The correlation you may be noticing is that they give you less promos if you buy food more often. Or maybe my account's just different. Who knows?

If you go in store you can buy as many of these as you want. You can only buy two at a time though. But you can check out as many times as you want they don't keep track. If the person checking you out is cool they can check you out after few times at once and save you from running through the store a few times.

You can't combine promo codes with bogo in Los Angles area! Used to be great not anymore
even when you could, the fees were so high, it would wipe out the effect of the 50% off coupon. Most of my uber orders now are for pickup using bogo offers.

I get it now. This person is simply pocketing the discount on the GCs by de-frauding the company on full reimbursement. It's just fraud especially given the stated intent
Seems same if you expensed $100 on a cc purchase where you got $10 back?

If you're at Costco… just buy avocados.

It's $7 for 6, if you use half an avocado per bowl it's 58 cents per bowl
plus your time spent making the guac.

nice. lets buy a gift card with discount to buy food at 2x at its menu price!
You realize you can order food for pickup. In my favorite restaurant that's only 5% price over menu price. Many places have same price as restaurant's menu price.
I can buy these discounted giftcards with credit card that gives 5% cashback and additionally get 2% from executive membership. You do the math.

The only loser here is restaurant that has to pay 30% commission to Uber.

Funny that in my area, pick up order is marked up as well.
For franchise restaurants, it's 10~20% cheaper to order on their website( Chipotle, Panda, Cava, etc ) - well I guess you could argue this gift card is 25% off, but that's just a hassle in my area.
For non-franchise restaurant with no website or app, phone call order is always cheaper.
Really, the only reason I keep ordering on ubereats is b/c I got amex gold, but I might cancel this card b/c ubereats just gone too far in my area.

Doordash pickup is better. Uber eats tends to price their pickup same as their delivery inflated price.

But uber eats did give me better promos though. Two delivery orders $25 off each. Some punchcard of $20 uber cash for making 4 purchases. 50% off an uber ride.

Best deal I got on door dash is 10% off zillions gift cards that I redeemed for amazon gcs +10% back from paypal.

I spend about $2,000 per month on Uber Eats and Uber…….. if there weren't a limit, I would buy probably $10k worth of these! I am in for my allotment though!
I had good luck with buying physical cards from Costco store. Got about 40 packs last weekend, just needs to check out 2 at a time
