This is a fun set. I did it with my son. Just be real careful with the gears. There's a bunch and some look similar but are slightly different sizes which throws off the whole mechanism.
Don't blame the education system for people believing stupid things. I know well-educated, intelligent doctors who have really stupid beliefs as well.
Please pardon their stupidity.

Target has the set for $60 as well. If you're a Target Circle card holder it's another $3 (5%) off.

I've never understood the animosity toward flat-earthers. It's far easier (and more civilized) to just ignore them, like larpers, furries, and other role-playing fans.
I bought a set to assemble with my kids. I generally avoid technic sets but this one is intriguing and they're at that age where they're starting to learn about the solar system and how ridiculously amazing it all is.
It's more of an annoyance due to our failing educational system. It would be one thing if these flat earthers were just trolling but many actually believe that nonsense…but anyway I purchased this set around the holidays & have it displayed on my desk. I personally enjoyed the build.

As a father that built this set with my 8 year old, this is an amazing set! The amount of engineering that went into this actual rotation mechanism is mind boggling to me. You can see how the tilt of the earth axis would contribute to the seasons, and how frequently the moon goes around the earth in comparison to how much the earth moves around the sun. There are markers for the months of the year so you can see exactly how everything aligns during any time of the year. If not for your kid, get this for yourself! Single best set I'm glad I purchased.

Looks like it has a crank you have to manually turn to move it. Would have been cool if it did have a variable speed motor.
