I bought 2 sets at $19.98 and ended up returning them both. The ratchet is nearly impossible to get out of the case, and the screwdriver handle isn't much easier. The ratchets in both of mine were very poor quality and they both would switch directions while in use. I know it's now only $10 ( I'm actually tempted to try my luck again) but I would set your expectations appropriately.

I took it apart and these ratchets are not lubricated. What you need to do is to buy superlube. Take apart the gearing mechanism, elongate the little spring, and lubricate all the gears. It works fine once it's put back together. I know it's a hassle, but I actually do this to my gear wrench tools also.

OK guys. I thought the comments about how hard it is to get the ratchet out maybe were insane, but I just got mine and it's true -- it's a huge pain to get it out!

However once you do get it out the first time, I find that if you replace the ratchet 'upside-down' -- i.e. with the anvil up/facing you, you can then 'swipe' the anvil to the side with your thumb and the ratchet will pop out of the clips. Then you can just lift it out.

You're welcome....

Won't help with the sockets but I suppose you might be able to crank most of them (all but the tiniest) to the side with the spinner tip and pop those out.

In mine, most of them can be pulled with a good finger pinch. With the others I can generally move the surrounding one(s) out of the way to get a better grip, or lever it a bit with the spinner.

Good price, but pretty small socket set, with 14 metric being the biggest size

got it w/ free delivery and 5% off w/ military.. Thanks
I never get military with Lowes on tools, only Home Depot takes care of me. How did you get only 5% anyway? I thought it was supposed to be 10%. Lowes used to be military friendly. Now HD gets my business.

1/4 drive.......I have had my Craftsman Socket set for over 10 years and never used my 1/4 drive set. I live in the midwest and most bolts on a car are rusted on. Just curious on what people use these small sets for? I think you should really ask yourself why you need it. Might as well put my $10 towards a good meal if you're coming up blank.

You must be new here. At SD, we buy solutions and then search for problems. Or as some seasoned SDers would say, buy first, think later.

Does this come with 8mm that's short(shallow) and long(deep) I lost mine in the abyss of a Nissan Rogue adjusting the headlight and tearing apart the wheelwell or undercarriage in this snow is not fun 🤦🏻 .

I use my 1/4 a lot when I work on electrical components of a car like car stereo.

Nah, that false motto gets you accumulation with rarely any use.

Love the form-factor of this set, super compact and it comes with a ton of useful bits like triple-square, torx and standard screwdriver. Them forcing you to use the 1/4"-drive bit holder with the driver-handle is smart and I love that you can swap the bit holder to the ratchet for more leverage on things like torx fasteners on a car for example.

$10 doesn't even get you a chipotle meal anymore

My two cents:
Atleast once in your life, you will surely find a use for this $10 thing and will feel that your money was well spent! So, take it instead of food - unless you are dying of hunger.
