Yes. Since it's Android. What you do is create a minor (<13 yrs old) Google account. Then add that account to your Google Family. Then login to that account when setting up this phone. From there you can manage screentime length and schedules, plus block or allow different apps. As long as you stick with Google Chrome as the only browser on the phone you can set what websites are allowed and the maturity level of search results. Some other Google apps also allow you to set maturity level allowed.

It takes some configuring, but I've had good experiences with using Google Family to manage my kids devices.

I've done the following several times without issue. Usually the chat portion is completed within 30 minutes. You won't have to do much more than provide validation that you're in possession of both phones (they'll send a text to each phone at points during the chat) and keep the conversation open (basically respond after each time they chat to you even if it's just "ok" to their "please continue to hold").

1. Go to the web to find the current minutes, messages, data, and days remaining on your permanent phone.
2. Activate your "donor" phone on the same account.
3. Go to the web to find the current minutes, messages, data, and days remaining on your new, donor phone.
4. Go to support.tracfone.com and scroll down to and click "Chat with Support".
5. Populate the message template below with details of your donor phone and permanent phone and share with the CSR.

Hello, I'd like to move the data, minutes, text, and remaining days FROM my line TO my line .

currently has ### minutes, ### messages, #.# GB data, ### days left which I'd like added to my line which currently has ### minutes, #### messages, #.# GB data, ## days left.

My account email address is:

The end result should be minutes, messages, GB data, days left.

Walmart appears to be for 1 phone with plan. This deal is for 2 phones with plans at $54.98 for existing customers, $39.98 for new customers.

There is conflicting information about this. But it looks like for QVC/HSN bundles the limit is 6 months as opposed to the bundles directly from Tracfone being 1 year.
YMMV, but I've probably activated phones I bought 3+ years ago without issue

my 24gb plan did combine with a bundled plan for extra years of service, but I did it before it had lapsed. I doubt there is a way to extend it after it lapsed, but I guess it's worth a try.
at least on normal TracFone plans there is like a 30 day grace period where your account sill carries over.

Yeah, I've seen that too. But the question is if the policy has changed after the Verizon take over.

Any guides for setting up the referral credit? Only attempt failed recently with 'has been 14 days since line started' error not even a day after activating new line. And many of the codes found through googling or through ebay listing descriptions end up already being used the max amount of time.

VZ bought the TF brands over 3 years ago.
There are lots of reports of people waiting at least 6 months since then, it's not a concern.

There are two versions of extensions. You could have a limited allotment plan and extend it with an unlimited talk/text plan. Anecdotes suggest this turns the entire plan into an unlimited plan. The other way would be to extend an unlimited plan with this limited allotment plan but I haven't seen any evidence of what the resulting plan would look like. Would it keep the unlimited status or would it drop down to limited allotment after the unlimited time runs out?

You also get this when it comes on sale again !!
An 8 year old shouldn't have more than a feature phone.
I got these for my 9 year old grandsons for Christmas. Their parents have refused to let them have smartphones, but now agreed to let them have dumbphones so they can call & text their friends.

They were ecstatic! $20 each for one year of service. The Dad said, "They will lose them before the one year is up anyway."

Any time you have to do something out of the ordinary with chat or call to customer service, you are going to be frustrated. Just do it online. Log into your account and activate the new phone keeping your number. A day or two later, (re)activate the old phone the same way.

I've been helping a neighbor with Tracfone. I told her to do it online, but nooooo. She insisted on activating her new phone by calling them. Then she complained to me that it took her 90 minutes to get her new phone activated, and that she was tearing her hair out.

Do you say that the bundled plan in this deal can extend the 24gb plan by a year? Could you please elaborate how to do it? Many thanks!

My 24gb plan will expire next month. It would be great if this deal can extend it.

the fact minutes expire after 1 year is pretty shitty and makes tracfone suck. some people just want a cheap phone to store in the car for emergencies and dont want to remember to renew a subscription every year. the minutes are paid for so whats the problem? why do they expire? its bullshit
So get a free textnow account. Pay $5 to get a TN SIM and transfer a phone number to it, so you get to keep the number.

The minutes expire because as long as you have the number activated you are consuming some of their resources. The network equipment.has to be paid for.

Not a big deal, put the phone in the car and remember to use it once a month or once a quarter. I call the WWV time number.

This is a great price for a couple of phones and the service plan that comes with it.

Just be warned that these are very low-spec phones so if you actually intend to use them to install apps or browse the web, you may be disappointed with how sluggish they are and how much lag occurs. When I see people talking about getting them for their kids, I'm not sure if that amounts to child abuse or a good lesson in patience.

I bought the single phone bundle for $35 in Nov. I've been using it as my locked down secondary phone since and it's great. I've used these apps with no problems: practicing with Duolingo, browsing with Firefox, playing with Brotato, and youtubing with Newpipe. It's a great value that feels solid in your hands and no big deal if you lose it or damage it.

The Tracfone and Moto bloat can be easily removed through ADB or a GUI debloater [github.com]. If you are planning on removing bloat, DO NOT upgrade to Android 13. Tracfone made some of their bloat apps untouchable in Android 13 so you cannot uninstall them. Android 12 have none of these issues so you can make it as barebones as you want.

Unlock 60 days after activation.
Is it auto unlock after 60 days or do we have to call customer service?
