It takes some configuring, but I've had good experiences with using Google Family to manage my kids devices.
1. Go to the web to find the current minutes, messages, data, and days remaining on your permanent phone.
2. Activate your "donor" phone on the same account.
3. Go to the web to find the current minutes, messages, data, and days remaining on your new, donor phone.
4. Go to support.tracfone.com and scroll down to and click "Chat with Support".
5. Populate the message template below with details of your donor phone and permanent phone and share with the CSR.

Login the your current TF account.
It would be better to pick "get a new number", wait for 61 days, unlock your phone.
Then chat with them, request to" merge your service.
Tell them that you want to transfer/combine service from XXX-XXX-XXXX to YYY-YYY-YYYY
Make sure both numbers above are in the same TF account.

I waited 61 days to verify the phones have unlocked before re-using the same number for new activations though.
