The unlock occurs 60 days after proper activation. The auto-response when texting UNLOCK to 611611 is currently experiencing a glitch—please ignore it:

It takes some configuring, but I've had good experiences with using Google Family to manage my kids devices.
1. Go to the web to find the current minutes, messages, data, and days remaining on your permanent phone.
2. Activate your "donor" phone on the same account.
3. Go to the web to find the current minutes, messages, data, and days remaining on your new, donor phone.
4. Go to support.tracfone.com and scroll down to and click "Chat with Support".
5. Populate the message template below with details of your donor phone and permanent phone and share with the CSR.
Hello, I'd like to move the data, minutes, text, and remaining days FROM my line TO my line .
currently has ### minutes, ### messages, #.# GB data, ### days left which I'd like added to my line which currently has ### minutes, #### messages, #.# GB data, ## days left.
My account email address is:
The end result should be minutes, messages, GB data, days left.

Thanks in advance, I'm new to this and a bit confused by how Tracfone works in this case.
As far as activation, what I have done is: activate qvc phone #1 with a transfer of service from current phone, once the balance is updated, activate qvc phone #2 with a transfer from phone #1. Then once I see the balance updated, go into the Tracfone account, find the original phone and click the activate button and keep my number to transfer everything back from phone #2. Mine was a different bundle, but both qvc phones unlocked on day 60 even though they only had service for less than 15 minutes. Many Tracfone experts will advise spreading the activations out on different days in case you have to sort something out later.
This method maximizes service time and is easiest because you don't have to deal with customer service at all. If you want to open multiple accounts to try to get self-referral points, there are different benefits and risks to that method.

1. Self-refer both Motos on separate accounts. Leave both Moto lines active for 60 days. Possible 2x 7500 + 2x 6000 pts in addition to two unlocked devices that you can sell for at least $50 on FB marketplace. End up with ~$320 potential eGift + cash value if the self-referrals work (not guaranteed but has worked once for me), assuming 7500 pts equal $60 eGift value and 6000 pts is about $50. May need to contact CS to merge minutes / data after 60 days on all 3 lines. Big hassle, but I heard it can be done. Link from Howardforums [howardforums.com].
2. Activate Moto 1 using same number option using original TF number, activate Moto 2 using same number, reactivate original TF SIM. Two Motos get unlocked but because their lines are no longer active on a separate account, self-referral points will be lost after 60 days of inactivity. You guarantee your minutes / data get merged without CS intervention and you wind up with 2 unlocked Motos but you necessarily give up the potential rewards. I haven't done this myself because I never cared about the TF minutes.
Also I'll note that the referral bonus for the referrer, in this case the original TF line, is flaky, but the referee (the Motos) should get 6000, which means option 1 should at a minimum get 2x 6000 pts. Just need to use two separate email addresses.

When you activate phone #1, a security code is sent to your original phone for verification. Activate phone #2, code to phone #1, and then code to phone #2 when you move everything to the original phone.
To get the self-referral points only (new accounts), you don't need to turn on the phones (still eligible for unlock), unless you want to combine service from the QVC phones to your original phone.
I've bought used Verizon-branded phones and noticed those have a bunch more bloat.
Disable before activating to prevent bloatware downloads on your dime.

And should I only do one transfer a day, as shown below?
Day one, turn on both original phone and phone 1. Verification code sent to original phone. Both plans combined on phone 1.
Day two, turn on both phone 1 and phone 2. Verification code sent to phone 1. Both plans combined on phone 2.
Day three, turn on both phone 2 and original. Verification code sent to phone 2. Both plans combined on original phone.
I guess that's how it goes if I follow that post in the wiki.

Take screenshots of your balance before combining just in case.

-that the system flags you for fraud so either the points don't vest or you can't redeem them
-and that an agent messes up the combine which will take multiple calls to sort out.
I've experienced both. Someone earlier in the thread said they were flagged for a self-referral when they legitimately referred their neighbor.
And in your #2 above, there would not be any referral points because you do it all on the same account. There might be a small amount of points for the new phone activation.
They are sluggish. As in very sluggish. Set them up this morning. Over wifi updated. Restarted several times. Installed nothing onto the devices. No bloatware. Still sluggish.
Luckily, just using as trade in devices.

Just be warned that these are very low-spec phones so if you actually intend to use them to install apps or browse the web, you may be disappointed with how sluggish they are and how much lag occurs. When I see people talking about getting them for their kids, I'm not sure if that amounts to child abuse or a good lesson in patience.
anyone looking to actually use the phone, do yourself a favor and spend the extra money and get the 2024 version.
2023 version is 3GB/32GB
2024 version is 4GB/64GB and its a very noticeable difference.
QVC sells the 2 pack of the 2024 version for $99 and new customers can use the same $15 off code. So for an extra 45 bucks, you actually get two very useable phones instead of ewaste.
