I purchased the iZeeker 2.5k dash cam off of Amazon about 4 months ago. It's really a no frills cam but has served me really well so far and the video quality is great for what I need it for. I'm not going to be able to pull license plates off of cars in the dark but all I really need is something to prove fault in case of an accident. It was only $39 at the time but it's actually $10 off atm so an even better deal. Might get another for my wife's car came with a long cable, SD card and a pry tool to hide the cables in the car seams

dashcam market seems so "sketchy" for lack of a better term.

I would like to buy one, but the number of options and 1000s of brands is intimidating.

Reviews look sketchy as hell, look like "Write a positive review and we will give you product for free" reviews.

Bought this recently for about the same price. Have a teenager and wanted geolocation and speed recorded. Did not find anything else in this price range with those options. Video quality is better than I expected. I did turn off the splash screen and a lot of their notifications, was happy to have the options to do this.

Been using VIOFO branded dashcams for 8+ years and would not go to something else. Rock solid and saved my ass a few times during questionable accidents.

I bought ROVE R2-4K PRO in $75 earlier and haven't opened the package yet. Should I return that and get this one instead? The last date to return is Jan 31.
The Rove one came with a 128gb card if I remember correctly.
Plus the Rove is a better brand with better reviews.
I say stick with what you bought.

The sketchy reviews combined with this being a staff post makes this a hard pass for me. Seems like this "deal" is being promoted.

Any cheap dash cam with a "smart app" is not worth it. Get one without app integration and you'll be happier. All of these apps are so poorly made
Garmin's is good, not necessarily as spiffy as from a software company but good features and stability

Yes, I fished it through the headliner. Pretty long cable and I tied up the excess and left it in the headliner. It has a headphone jack style connector. The unti is powered by a USB port, they give you a power supply that will plug into a lighter. Luckily the car I have has a USB in the center console that I was able to use.

Not referring to this dash cam.

I have used a power bank to power an Aukey cam for eight years. I don't want to deal with hard wiring anything. I plug and unplug the USB cable as needed. Sometimes I just leave it running if I am running multiple errands around town. I have a glasses pocket near the inside rear view mirror to hold the bank. In my newer car I had to route the cable around and down near the drivers side to reach a power bank. Doesn't look great but works.

I have the same. I am not happy with the video quality especially at night. I would return but I think the included card popped out and I can't find it.

VIOFO is one of the better well known ones. The VIOFO Dash Cam A119 Mini 2 is one of the best bang for the buck models for example.

That is 2x the price with no rear cam. My first cam was a Garmin, paid a lot for it. Got cooked in the sun and quit working in less than a year. After that I have always bought cheaper cams and not had any issues. If I did, I could buy another cam with the $50 I saved on not buying a more expensive cam.
