4TB 990 Evo and (most all 4TB) should be well below $200 especially for a none Pro DRAM less SSD.
Agreed. Should wait for the Pro to hit these prices. It has already during BF/CM

You want the 990 PRO to compare to WD SN850X.

Because it is a good option for people looking for a fast drive that is single sided, runs cool, has a 5 year warranty from a reputable brand, is not QLC and is at a decent price in today's market. Laptops and Thunderbolt enclosures would be perfect for this drive. It would be nice if it cost less but for people that need a drive today this is the best option IMHO. I was able to use the education discount to bring the price down to $225 and 3% cash back buying directly through Samsung. My 990 drive is going into a Thunderbolt enclosure for a M4 Mac Mini.

Not sure if it's the usual price since storage prices do fluctuate. But it is the current lowest price for a good 4TB drive from a reputable retailer that has it in stock so maybe that's why it has 22 up votes. I for one appreciates when Slickdeals posts such items. Before I buy anything I'll put it into a Slickdeals search check where it may be the cheapest and usually get to read knowledgeable comments of the product and or alternatives to the product.

Yeah actually with a chase card offer I should've had the 990 pro 4tb for something around $160-180 black Friday 2023, but they delayed shipping so the chase offer wouldn't work and I ended up cancelling. I sort of wish I had kept it for the $200ish price now in hindsight, but I didn't think I needed it at the time.

That offer was nice. I had the $50 off offer on 4 Chase cards. Ended up getting 2 phones for 200 off + 15% cash back or something like that.

Not to thread crap but after that 990 pro 4tb deal late last year, it's hard to consider anything that's not even remotely close that a deal anymore.
