I have a S21 on Tmobile and a G Play 2024 to swap for the S25. I plan to get the S25 on Spectrum, but I want to use the S25 on Tmo and S21 on Spectrum. After 2 months, can I just unlock the S25 and then swap SIMs to get them to work on the networks I want?

Hi there, I have a free line offer and plan to use it to get an S25 (by trading in an old phone) in store. After that, If I want to do "one s25 for an s25+", do I have to open and pay for a new line? I should mention that besides the free line offer, I can also choose another offer (Unlimited Plus) for $10/month with "upgrade anytime". Perhaps I should do the later if I want to trade in the s25 for s25+? Thanks!

You don't need that $10 additional for upgrading phones. You can simply buy
s25 by trading in any phone and then very next day (or even sane day), tell them to upgrade to S25+. Just make sure online that they are accepting trade-ins for S25 online before attempting it in store.

I did it in store. Because the give you the $700 credit instantly. So you get put on a payment plan. 24 months for $90 total. and you can go to the website and pay off the rest of the phone right away.
how did you come up with $90 over 24 months?

Hello friends,
Please let me know if you see any concerns with this below trade-in idea.
I have 4 mobile lines with Spectrum and all have been paid off. One of the 4 phones is Samsung A35, which I paid $400 for. Trade-in value for that phone towards any S25 series is $13+700=$713. My trade-in savings would be $313. I just need pay the remaining $86 for S25.
I notice that Spectrum site sells Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 for $216. If I buy that for full cash now, and immediately trade it in for S25 series, the trade-in value is $10 + $710. My savings would be $494. I just have to pay $89 for S25.
Question is would Spectrum allow me to buy a phone and use it for trade-in right away? Please advise.

I'm considering this deal, but I'm not sure if I need to purchase a plan for 60 days. Can I just put the phone aside and call to unlock it after 60 days?

The unlock policy is for the phone on Spectrum network for 60 days. So you should expect to pay roughly 3 billing cycles. At the minimum, it's $60 ($20 x 3)

Buy from QVC as mentioned. $55 for 2 phones. Same trade in value.

But in theory, you can buy a phone at the store and then immediately trade in for the S25 (with another new phone plane). I think that's totally fine. You can only do this, though only IF the store still have the S25 in stock.

Thanks. Doesn't tracfone need me to sign a contract?

Spectrum's $30/month for unlimited data is on par with other small carriers. It isn't too bad to stay with them. However, I did choose "pay in full" during checkout. I heard they check the IMEI to make sure you are sending the same phone. So don't order until you have the trade-in phone at hand (for people who are buying a new cheap phone just for the trade-in).

No, those phone packs come with a set plan and a sim. I would use the sim to activate the phone to get pass the initial screen. So long the phone is not locked, you should be fine with trade in.

Either the store must open or you do it yourself at home. The esim must be activated. I did it at home with a laptop (last year's deal). Also when you want to unlock, phone has to have service.

Don't do it online

You'll have to pay the full price up front, mail in device and wait for it to process, hopefully successfully, and get refund down the line

Bigger possible problem is that with slight tweak in their fine print now, they may withhold credit all at once to account and instead dole it out over 36 months

Doing it in person with credit immediately applied should preclude all the above problems basically

If they change the rules, I believe it will apply to both in-person and online transactions. Doing it in-store just gives you the opportunity to withdraw from the deal if they intend to hold the credit for 36 months.
