U gonna trade in pixel 9?

Yikes!

My understanding was, the beauty of this deal was you can trade in a moto g play 23.

No!

That's the point. I'm trading in the Moto G Play. But I'm "upgrading" from Pixel 9, which is what my line currently has and esim will be on

I just got two Moto g play 2023 from QVC. Tried to add as trade-in just to check if it works, both of them says it's not eligible. I tried as Others and Verizon but doesn't work. Am I missing anything?

Can we go to store on Feb. 7? Samsung S25 pre-order will end on Feb. 6.
That is for PRE-ORDER, when you go to the store it will become normal stock. Make your appointment but make sure the deal (trade-in, $700 promo) still applies. I asked customer service when the deal expires and they said they didn't know. Nice people in customer service but the mgt apparently keeps them in the dark. I'm going to try and reach out to upper mgt today to see if the deal still applies on Feb 7th instore!

Did you activate the phone on TF service prior to entering trade in info?

Additionally, Verizon has moved to a system that requires phones to be active for 60 days on a network before they allow trade in. Spectrum may be similar. Hard to say. Ultimately, I would go in store. They will only take the device if the IMEI is accepted.

No more extra storage bonus with preorder. That sucks.Better to wait for release and go in store for the instant credit.Still the best way to get these phones, but Spectrum deals are getting worse every year.
I went to a store yesterday to ask about doing an in store trade-in. The employee said while that's possible, his experience with Samsung launches is that they're so popular, it'll likely be a few weeks before they have stock...and they can only do in-store trade-ins IF they have it in stock in their store.
Any experience with what their stock looks like a week or so after launch?

Thanks for the response.

I didn't even open the box, just used IMEI printed on the pack.

Do you know if they accept it in the store given that it's not accepted online? I think lot of us bought these phones from QVC with the hope that they will go through

To those that pre-ordered online. I didn't see a shipping confirm email come through yet. But after logging into spectrum account under order status, I was able to see Fedex tracking info and my S25+ is arriving tomorrow! So check your order on spectrum website if you didn't receive an email with shipping tracking #.

What you two are describing is exactly what I've done multiple times last year with the S24. Use the same line to upgrade with beater android phones in succession and just swap the eSIM back to my original phone on that line. Wait 60 days for each upgraded phone to unlock.

You can only do so many upgrade trade ins in store before they block you so you'll end up having to do online trade in eventually. When doing the online method, you'll want to wait until they approve and pay out the trade in credit before upgrading that line again. This can take a week or more of waiting for their warehouse to approve the trade. Someone on here was risky enough to upgrade again before the prior trade in credit hit their account but they still ended up getting the trade promo credit for the prior upgrades. so we basically have 4 weeks from launch to promo end date to keep recycling the upgrade promo.

Of course this is all assuming they continue to pay out the trade in promo lump sum instead of this 36 months bs.
When you did it online, was the lump sump include tax or just the tradein value?

I may have missed this but do I need to activate and use the phone? Or can i use my old phone and sell the new S25 phone? My S23 is doing fine, so I dont feel the need to upgrade.
The phone is locked and only your Spectrum account can get it unlocked after 60 days of service. Your resale value of a Spectrum-locked phone will be bad.

In CA, you don't get tax refunded on the trade in. In NY and TX you do. So it really depends on your state. I don't have the directory of each states accounting treatment, just anecdotes from users on here.

I'm in TX, but when I did trade-in in the past (not with Spectrum), I don't get the tax refund. If it's a up front discount then yes tax is offset but never as a refund.

I will also try it on Feb. 7. I got a Flip 5 exactly the same way and received an instant trade-in credit in store. If I remember it correctly, I stopped by a Spectrum Store, and the rep there was too lazy to check and did not give me the trade-in credit. Then I went to another store, and they got me set up within 10 minutes.

I'm in CA in a 10% sales tax area, so does that mean I'll have to pay an add'l $70 (for this $700 MSRP phone)?

You can upgrade the same line twice if you wish

Not on same day at same time naturally. And I wouldn't go from one s25 to another

My plan, if I choose to get more than one (I have two to trade in too), is to upgrade my existing line from Pixel 9 to S25, have then set it up in store with esim on S25, move esim back to pixel 9, upgrade from Pixel 9 again. The trade in doesn't have to be your current phone (I.e., Pixel 9 in my case)
Why not a physical SIM?
and can you transfer eSIM by yourself online?
and is there a limit number of how many phones you can upgrade per line?
