Hah, they will lie to you saying yes they do. Then take in all your info and sign you up for a mobile line. Then say oh we don't have any in stock but we can let you keep the free line anyway! These people are the same as used car salesman.

Make sure you see the physical phone before giving them any info!

This. I just left. I got lied to about having them in stock and then there was some story that the manager hasn't scanned them for resale and it won't happen till Monday. I asked when and was given a generic answer about when he gets around to it.

Anyone in TX do in store trade in and get out under $100 like some have done? Basically I will likely not even try if I have to pay taxes on the pre-trade value.

Yes, I did. I traded in a Moto G Play for S25. Paid under $100 ($89.99 + Tax) out of the door.

There is no unlocking "right away". Device must be paid off + 60 days..

"It must be purchased from Spectrum Mobile and activated on a Spectrum Mobile line.
The device must be paid off in full.
The device must be active on the Spectrum network for at least 60 calendar days.
The customer's account must be in good standing
The device must not be reported lost, stolen or involved with fraudulent activity"

So, if an upgrade was done in a week it would disqualify it from unlock as it wouldn't be active for 60 days. With that it sounds like doing an early upgrade wouldn't be smart if you want both unlocked.

I would have been as well if I got the regular. I got the plus instead. Was $300 additional. But worth it. Traded in a Moto G pure 2021 $705 credit.

Just a quick data point. Upgraded 2 lines for S25 yesterday and went back today to upgrade to S25+ trading in S25. One went through fine, 2nd one triggered fraud alert. Wasn't able to do it. Also, online don't show anymore that S25 can be upgraded to S25+.
Anyone experienced this? Also, any suggestions to bypass "fraud alert" . They verified everything and system still not allowing it

why not S25 ultra. why you go with +

edit: but in all likelihood if you are going to hard and haven't bought any lines and use a free line to make all these purchases and upgrades. The you prob got caught basically. What you are doing is lightweight fraud is what it means

I wish there was some easy way to check the inventory information based on store location....

Other than physically visiting the store.
My local Spectrum store wouldn't even give me their local # to call and said they only do outbound calls. Sucks cuz i will have to waste a trip to the store to find out if they have them. For those trying to get one I would go very early when they open. Looks like I will likely do the online method. If someone confirms they did the online method & got the tradein credited back to their bank I will go ahead & do that method; I know others have done so in the past but just want to be sure with this one since I'm canceling my line in Sept.

Also I can already tell the person I interacted with at my local Spectrum may not want to do the transaction in my best interest like they want me to do monthly credits, sign up for another line, etc, like they make commission off their transactions.

I tend to agree

People been doing stuff with impunity and no, you're not breaking their terms or any laws of course. But shouldn't just ask if you can do it, but whether you should

And the only way I can say trading in is legitimate is if you're going from one phone from another once or twice after actually trying the phone out and plausibly wanting a different one

Not to be turd or party pooper

It's clear Samsung wants to get their number of units sold up, and Spectrum wants new signup and is along for the ride. And I'm here for it

Just use your best judgment

Someone yesterday wrote that they demanded to upgrade at same store with same rep right after getting their s25. Of course it'll deny you. As it should

Ultra was more out of pocket. I have 2 existing lines. They charged tax on full price yesterday . Was trying to recoup some of that after trading in. paid $143/each S25 after trade in and tax. Well, will try later. Thanks for your response

If I purchase a Walmart Moto phone, does it need to be activated with some kind of service before I trade it in, or can I just power it on and then trade in?

You can't call any Spectrum stores. They can't even call each other, they can only try an internal messenger chat. It's the stupidest thing I've ever seen.
