Have the tracfone moto g play 2023 and I'm pretty sure I should remove the sim card. Do I also do a factory reset? Someone mentioned if you do that you can't get to the homepage without a sim. I used the phone to extend my current tracfone plan and then moved the plan to another phone. Prefer that the sim card does not show my tracfone number. Have a BYOD tracfone sim that isn't activated. I could put it in the phone if that saves headaches. Would any other unactivated sim card do?

Remove sim card once you've got phone set up. Take it in just like that, no need to reset again
Traded in two crappy Moto phones via mail a week ago for 2 S25.
Went to Spectrum store yesterday and traded in the S25s for S25+ phones.
Here's the kicker (for all you haters and people screaming about fraud):
The guy who did my trade in saw my ID, smiled, and said "I remember you!" He went on to say he remembered me from last year with the S24s (I did the same thing, going from S24 to S24+ phones in-store). He said he couldn't believe how good a deal it was and turned around and did it himself. Said it was great and that, hey, as long as the loophole remained open, take advantage.
So for those of you thinking there is something wrong with doing multiple trade-ins, just stop. You're wrong.
Plan on trading the plus phones in for Ultras next week.
I've been doing this since the S23 lineup, and I have never used the Spectrum lines for anything other than trading in and selling devices. Simply retail arbitrage.

When upgrading from s25 base to plus and then ultra are you doing it on the same line or opening new lines? Did you do the original order online because it was preorder and would be quicker? Thanks!
Why does it matter if you remove the sim from the phone you are trading in? The Moto I got I was able to easily get to the Home Screen with, without changing anything physically with the phone, upon opening it.
I just meant as opposed to removing it before setting it up. Apparently people had trouble setting it up without sim in there

I tried twice on different days and was denied. They were making up excuses why I couldn't go from the base model to the plus. I know all the terms so I gave a little pushback but they kept coming up with new excuses. I was cordial, thanked them and left.

You did a trade, online, from S25 to higher model? Man, I would hate to have something go wrong with a trade in worth that much, especially if you don't have the credit yet from the first trade.
How long did it take for Assurant status page to change to in transit? I dropped off at UPS this Friday and the status page still says Awaiting Shipment. When I use the tracking number from the Assurant status page and go to UPS site, UPS shows On the Way.
