Just went to Monterey Park CA store, they have S25 ultra only. I need a regular S25. Anyone knows if the Alhambra one has regular S25. One more week of trying and I have to do it online
If you're willing to drive further, the Simi Valley location seemed to have everything in stock. They told me they still had stock of all the base models on the 19th and 20th. They don't seem to really allow the S25 to S25+ or Ultra trade in though because it seems like the manager is always there when I went and kept pushing the 50 dollar restocking fee + not getting the 700 dollar promotion.

It's funny cause I talked to mobile support and she's like I don't know the exact time but it might get extended.

Successfully upgraded both S25s to S25+ in store. Thanks for all the info. As someone just commented, about doing the same thing as me with two phones, can you not do more than 4 upgrades on one account? I did Moto-S25-S25+ for two phones on two lines. Thanks.
Lucky, I'm gonna give it one more shot on Monday and if it doesn't work online I must go through.

Online order trade in should following trade in email, there are 3 options to ship it back, 1. QR code to scan at UPS store 2. print prepaid label and send to USPS 3, request shipping material. Most people use #1 UPS, but there is no other barcode or print out that can accompany the phone, only hand over the phone to UPS store and let them print the label, the UPS guy print a label and set the label aside with the phone on his back table, which made me very skeptical at the time, what if he mixed the label, which if he printed the wrong label etc. I always hoped there was some other identification like a return barcode etc to stick to phone but nothing. All went well for me. I received my credit. #2 feels must better, it has other barcode show your trade in order #, some other info and prepaid label, you can prepack everything to make sure nothing can go wrong, it may takes a bit longer than UPS route.
I've had nightmares from UPS in my area. They sent a package that originated in CA to Rhode Island then back to CA which is where I'm at. Then they delivered a package to the wrong house in the same neighborhood. Then they delivered a package but broke it while tossing it at my door. This was all in the time span of <3 months. I never pick them but it seems like whenever they are picked I get some bad luck.

don't spectrum returns require box and everything?
Honestly don't know since I've never used UPS for any Spectrum returns, but I think that you can just drop off any equipment there, and they'll package it similar to these trade-ins.

The UPS store guy just asked me to take a small white box that was behind me that they normally sell to customers, and he hand it to him so he packaged the bare phone with some bubble wrap plastic, taped it up, scan QR code...etc.

I handed UPS the Moto G Play 2024 I bought specifically for this deal in the box it came in - no other shipping box. Trade went smoothly.

The rep didn't even hesitate or ask why I'm turning an S25 in. I notice the rep had problems with the eSIM, though. The rep just ended up putting a physical SIM in, and that fixed it. Maybe they couldn't eSIM because the phone I was transferring from was activated about 24 hours before? Not sure.

You mean the shipping box it came in, or that flimsy paper box the Moto comes in from the manufacturer?

I hate this. The worst part is that they make us feel like criminals for just trying to partake in a deal that's spelled out clear as day online

For my part I wrote out a long review complaining about how the promo is the promo and the reps should allow for it on Google Maps

You can consider doing the same

I don't want to go online, and their in store thing should allow for it all

I'm not the sort to ever demand to speak to a manager, but if this happened to me, I would and I'd report it up the chain in whatever way possible

It's a simple deal. If you don't like it, it's not your problem

I had same experience with guy who insisted my phone had to be unlocked before trade in (wrote about it previously in this thread) and told him it didn't. I held my ground and he let me go. Granted, that was last weekend. Who knows how high and mighty they've gotten by now

And yes, sounds entitled. But the terms are the terms. Just sell the damn phones as you're supposed to already

Just skip doing any in-store upgrades if you live in SoCal, unless you're adding a line or doing an initial upgrade. I've experienced similar things during my visits in other locations around me.

Save time and aggravation by upgrading online already. All the gas/time wasted driving around just adds up. I'm done with the stores and just upgraded my s25 to s25+ online to save the headache and all games the agents play.

I don't believe they get commissions for upgrading, only just opening new lines. Therefore, they're not incentivized to deplete their inventory for upgrades when you already have any s25 model. I think most, if not all, SoCal stores are rationing their supposed "limited inventory" of phones exclusively for potentially new customers opening new lines, or only the initial upgrade on a line. Most agents will look and dig into your account history, before letting you know if they "have" any phones in stock. If you add a new line, they'll magically have it in-stock, but if you're upgrading, SOL they don't have anything.

Had an agent say they even had to order their upgrade online for their own personal phone. They did offer to order it online and have it shipped though, but you'd still have to do the Assurant mail-in process.

Bothers me that they just make up shit to justify whatever they want.

If they want certain outcomes, they need to modify what can be traded in from the top. Online and in store. Otherwise carry out the trade in per the terms you've laid out online

I don't plan on robbing them blind. But now they ticked me off enough that I almost want to lol

But overall, even with the caveats, still good deal. The trading in repeatedly was not exactly in the spirit of what they want with the promo or the upgrade policy

If you're opening new line and going all the way even up to S25 ultra in one trade in, so moto g play for 710 trade in value against new flagship, it's a mad discount I'd take. Two months of service not bad either. But they need to let at least that happen and not lie about that either and say your trade in needs to be unlocked or something or the other

And as a restock meaning 50 dollar fee on top? Still not too bad

Another update: I was finally able to trade in my S25 for the S25+. But what a nightmare! All you guys read my experience yesterday, so I was a bit reluctant to try again but I was in too deep to stop now (wife thought I was crazy to go to all this trouble for a cell phone, but that's me Big Grin). Headed out this afternoon and went back to one of the stores I went to yesterday, got a different rep. and told her I wanted to trade in my S25 for the Plus. She says, "sure, no problem" (go figure, all others had lied to me). Buttttt... it wasn't to be so simple for me, you know!

Everything went very smoothly until she asked for ID and SSN - three days ago I bought the S25 with no issue at all with both pieces of information, but today? Nope, their system wouldn't verify ID today for some unknown reason, which stopped the transaction dead in its tracks. She tried everything - multiple times and it just refused to go through. I starting thinking that maybe she was pulling my leg, but at the same time, she was so friendly it didn't seem so, she was genuinely trying to make the transaction work (and she'd already gone and gotten the S25+ from the back room and had it sitting there on the counter). She even suggested a return to make the deal work (not trade-in) and told me I'd have to pay something like $265 to upgrade to the Plus. I said "no thanks" to that, obviously. Anyway, after many tries to verify ID, she basically just gave up and said I'd have to call Spectrum Mobile customer service back east to see if they could figure out what was going wrong. Meanwhile, I could see my new Plus slipping away, so close but so far...

I stayed there in the store and called them, spent easily an hour on the phone only to reach someone that finally said there was no problem seen on their end, the ID verified right away for them - but that doesn't help me in store, it has to go through their system in the store and there was nothing this phone agent could do to assist further. She suggested the store agent reboot her computer and clear cookies (strange thing to ask, but why not try?). I told the agent to do that and although I couldn't see the screen, I guess she did that.

Several more tries later and still it wouldn't go through. By now, I'd been in the store for a full 2 1/2 hours! I was ready to give up and just forget it, but somehow it just suddenly confirmed my ID and went through. I couldn't hardly believe it, after so long and so many tries but it worked!

In the end, after taxes, I wound up with a $0.51 credit on my bill. I think it was $1,088 trade in credit for the S25, and I think someone earlier in the thread said they lowered the TIV by $25 since a couple of days ago. This was the hardest won Slickdeal ever for me! I don't know if I'd do it again with no certainty of success but I'm happy it's over (for now, I'll probably trade in the S25+ next year for the Ultra). Thanks to everyone that replied to my post and for the moral support, I needed it worship

WOW. Congrats! You definitely deserved it! Persistence finally paid off. worship

I gave up a few days ago and just ordered it online. Wasted enough time and energy. Online isn't really too bad, since Assurant seems to be on the ball this year and turnaround for most folks was a little over a week on average.

Sent in my trade-in yesterday via UPS drop-off and should arrive in Lewisville on Monday; same day FedEx should be delivering the s25+. Guess the silver lining was that, at least, I got the full $1113 TIV, before it was lowered.

Yeah, I think I earned this one (and as a true SD'er I hung in there and persisted until it happened). I'm mentally exhausted tonight though after all that! LMAO

I don't blame you for going the online route. I may have done that too if I hadn't been successful today, thankfully it's over... for this year. Glad you got the full TIV, hey, it's only $25 but you won't find that kind of money laying in the street somewhere! If I do this next year *shudders* I might just go the online route. There's far less friction but just a bit more anxiety due to an expensive phone being out of my hands. And with my track record, anything that can go wrong, will shake head

Hope you get your phone quickly and everything goes smoothly for you and everyone else. I wouldn't wish my experience on my worst enemy. Thanks for the input and all, I appreciate it and repped you too. Cheers!

You can if you want but at least with UPS you can just hand them the bare phone. They'll bubble wrap it and package it in a box for you. It was pretty painless.

Just make sure it's sent to Assurant in Lewisville, TX and not processed as a Spectrum Equipment return.

Just looked at the photo of the UPS label on the box I took, towards the bottom looks like it has the Trade-in Offer # under REF #1 and the phone's IMEI listed under REF #3. Also, there's a DESC: Trade in returns.

LOL... didn't you just upgrade earlier today in-store. Are you doing s25+ to Ultra online already?

Could you please share what exactly you did with the Moto G Play 2024 before sending it out? Do you need to turn on, set it up, take out the sim card? I believe you got it from Wallmart and it is locked with Straight Talk?
