Did several trades in store and the rep reset the moto g plays without the sim and said they were fine. One only had esim and he seemed fine with that as well. Handed it to him with the home screen on and he reset it, waited for the phone to reboot and said I was good to go. When I set up any phone, I don't allow location or any kind of tracking so don't know if that makes a difference. Just say no to everything they ask unless you can't move forward.
In-store is no problem because once the rep is happy with the trade-in device, the deal is done. The online is the real problem because Assurant can reject your trade-in device if you don't meet the requirements of preparation to send in the device. Go to Reddit and see a lot of them were rejected and have a hard time to resolve the issue. Especially the Moto G Play 2023 doesn't meet one of the requirements no matter how you prepare it. Once Assurant rejects the trade-in device, you will be stuck with at least $866 on your credit card and if you are lucky that you can return the new device, you end up paying a $50 fee for that. $866 for S25 device with Spectrum only is super overpriced without $700 credit because I was offered $432 for a brand new S25 with Spectrum only on eBay last week.Trade-in in-store is the best. Online trade-in carries a Huge Risk due to some asshole employees in Assurant.

I have added free line yesterday over the phone with customer service and upgraded the device to s25 in store. Today went to add second paid line, and trade in a device, rep mentioned can only ship the phone for my account, can't pick the phone even in stock. So I didn't bother to add additional line. She even showed the computer screen to me. Does this happened to anyone else? And what could be the problem?
Does any one knows?

There is a way to get past the no sim card screen and I would like to think assurant knows how. Broke the sim tool in the sim tray of a metro samsung tablet so couldn't put the sim in. Got the no sim page and thought I was stuck so I googled it and you touch the sides of the screen in a certain order and it worked no problem. Sort of like getting into the "secret" service menu of a TV.
Assurant didn't care. They have rejected the trade-in devices with many reasons that I have read from Reddit and SD. The reasons are no power on, Find My Phone feature is ON in the settings, no factory reset, and etc. Some got their devices back and they verified that the denied reasons were not true at all. So who do we believe?

I also went to the Simi Valley location and the manager you mentioned is a short older woman, right? I also failed with the S25 -> S25+. The agent told me that they are processing the first trade-in so I should come in next week or do it online.
First time I went it was a older gentleman, I remember him being more well dressed than the other staff. I do believe it was also a short older woman the following day.

I haven't seen any on SD say Assurant rejected their trade. Can you post a link to a Spectrum customer getting a trade rejected by Assurant?

I always leave the SIM card in and Assurant approved the trades. I know it says take out SIM, and I don't see a reason why I should.

You don't read enough and here is one from page 135:

FYI, last year I sent in two Straight Talk Moto G Play phones from Walmart. Both were denied, and I paid a $100 restocking fee. I did not reset the phones and left them on the home screen. I also left the SIM cards that came with the phones inside, but it seems Assurant's workers took them out and reset the phones. However, some people traded in successfully; I was just not one of the lucky ones. So, I personally will not take this risk again.

I have a question. You paid $100 fee because you returned your two S25 devices due to Assurant's rejection of your Moto G Play right?
I didn't even log in to my account or anything; I just left the phone on the home screen, turned off, with the SIM card inside. But they took out the SIM card and reset the phone, which left the phone stuck on the start screen. Yes, since the trade-in value was $0, I paid a $100 restocking fee. Then, they shipped back the Moto G Play. I took the devices to a store. moto g p > moto razr in-store > 24 online > 24+ online. However, after some reading, it seems this time they are more flexible; no rejections have been reported so far for those who sent in Moto G Play phones.

Did you leave the phone in the factory reset stage?

I'm shocked but I've now done 5 in store and one online, all successfully.

Moto to S25 x2
S25 to S25+ x2 (one in store, one online)
IPhone 13 to S25
A14 to S25

Not blocked. 5 in store, one online. And even though they dropped the trade in value, the iPhone 13 (which is 75 bucks at metro right now) went to S25 for 19 bucks out the door in Socal.

Go team!

I don't care. It hasn't been answered the way I asked, as far as I can tell, and no one cares that you are the internet police. No one cares who I am, or who you are. You can choose to help or not.

Wow, 5 in-store successfully. I did 5 in-store too, but the last one failed me with a fraud pop up message, so I decided to do it online and hopefully everything goes well.
