most people keep the line for 3 month just to get s25 unlocked then cancel
slickdealers are keeping one free line open, and after unlocking the first device, switch to 2nd device and allow 60 days to unlock. rinse repeat. This is the no rush slick way.

Got email from spectrum as Good news! We've received your device and inspected it. You'll be receiving a Trade-In Credit of $388.00 for your device. In addition to your Trade-In amount, you also qualify for the Trade-In Promotion, which brings your total to $1,088.00.But also i see on the same email """ You'll receive your Trade-In Credit. If you financed your new device, your credit will be applied evenly over the remaining installments of your device payment plan.* If you paid for your new device in full, the total credit for the confirmed value of your trade in, including any applicable promotions, will be applied in the next two billing cycles. If you don't receive your trade-in refund/credit within two billing cycles """Does this mean Trade-In Credit will be over month on month and not as one time
depends if u financed or paid in full.

Your approach only applies to people who is going to keep Internet. I am graduating in May, the latest I will keep my Internet is 5/21 which only enough to unlock 1 phone. I figured paying extra 40 ( 2 extra month) is easier and faster to have 2 phone unlcoked. I can
1. cancel the paid line right now and only keep the free line to have 1 phone unlocked in early May, then switch to 2nd phone and pay 30 or 40 per month for 2 month ( free line becomes paid line after 5/21) to have 2nd phone unlocked
2. or keep the paid line and switch to by gig, pay extra 2 month and get both phone unlocked, then cancel mobile line and Internet when I graduate.

I sent my phone in a week ago using the provided QR code at a local UPS store. The tracking status shows 'Delayed.' I contacted UPS, and they informed me that the package is now considered lost. Assurant told me they couldn't process a claim with UPS. What should I do in this situation?
Mu receipt from UPS said that it was being shipped by Assurant via shipit. As assurant is the shipper, pretty sure they have to file the claim. Much online about similar cases. Sometimes it never shows delivered and yet the credit comes through. Would call spectrum and look at reddit or other threads. Good luck!

Much to read through in this thread. That does work most of the time, but didn't work for everybody. For me it is worth it to pay the extra $20 or 40 to unlock my phone.

Not sure why there is no wiki and so much to read through but this is easy to fix.

If you choose payments you either call spectrum or pay off the entire phone balance online. If you paid in full you are good to go for the next step. Call spectrum and they will issue you a full one time credit to your credit/debit card on file.

No the unlock clock for each phone is tied to its initial activation date, not when it was last placed onto the line. So you can keep the free line and unlock phone 1 on day 60, then switch the sim to phone 2 and unlock the same day or next day if both phones were activated for 60 days already.

It has been 10 business days since my trade-in was delivered, and I still haven't received information on the assessment. Is this normal?

Even if you initially choose payments, it's easy to pay in full and get your credit in full quickly.
Only difference is that you paid in full when ordering instead of paying the remaining balance whenever you are ready to get your credits.

I didn't see an option to pay in full when trading online. I guess I need to just choose to pay off the balance and then get the refund when they get the phone

I've noticed two different methods of reactivating phones onto active lines.

1. Use the self-service tool online labeled "Switch devices" and plug in IMEI and it'll send a new eSIM to your new device. This does not reset the activation clock and you can unlock based on initial activation date.

2. If the above doesn't work or the system glitches, you'll need customer service help to activate the device on the line. They will do a BYOD upgrade of the line with the new device IMEI you provided and you'll receive a new order email that basically upgraded the line with a BYOD device. This will reset the activation clock.

DO NOT ever do the second method. If the first method fails, go to a store and get a physical SIM and then you can just swap the pSIM into whatever phone you want without requiring a new BYOD activation order.

They don't make it easy. Posted when I did my first online order, but that was a while ago. When you are reviewing before finishing the order, you click on edit for the payments and it offers you to pay in full. Took me some time to figure this out.

As it turns out, the person in store did this accidentally on my last in store trade in and I thought, this is a better way to go as it doesn't set off fraud alerts at Spectrum or my credit card, only charges me a small amount till everything is ready to settle and you have to call either way.

the 60 days unlock is on the line or the device? I wished there was a wiki for this.

I chatted with support yesterday. They told me that I can't just put the pSIM into any random unlocked phone that I want. They told me that I need to request to put a new device onto the line and submit some information and wait 24 hours. They told me that if I just randomly switch SIMs without their knowledge, it would cause problems on their end in their system and possibly flag my account as fraud
