People talking about the Apple adapter, it has a single 3.5mm jack. This would be for some headsets that have separate plugs for headphones and mic.
The Apple usbc adapter isn't limited to just Apple, either
Doesn't the Apple one have volume limitations on Android devices?

Why should I buy this when the Apple Adapter can act as a good DAC?
I don't think this is limited to just Apple. My PCs audio out port is broken so I use something like this.

I don't know about your use case. But go for Apple USB-C if you want affordable quality with a stereo TRS headphones or TRRS headphones with a in-line mic connection.
If you have headphones that have separate TRS connectors for headphones and TS for mic (usually for PC gaming) and you don't want to use an adapter, this is for you.

Yeah that's what I'm trying to figure out. Beside wanting separate ports, why should I go for this instead of Apple's adapter?!

Yes, the Apple USBC headphone adapter has a low hardware volume default, and most android apps cannot control hardware volume. Think the virtual volume slider on your device vs the buttons/dial on the speaker/headphones themselves, when Bluetooth isn't involved.

But it's still gonna be audible for most output devices. And if it's not, you can just download an app that can adjust the volume of external DACs, then go back to whatever you were doing and it will stay set until you unplug it.

lol how many reasons do you need? You'd choose this over the Apple DAC if you want/need separate headphone and microphone jacks - maybe you want to use different headphones for different things but always use the same microphone, or vice versa. Also, as others have mentioned here there's the volume issue with Android devices using the Apple DAC.

"Audiophiles" will use an external powered pre-amp with DAC. You're talking about a $10 dongle. It's great, I use it, but it's not comparable to a dedicated setup.

Simple. This adds a mic input. If you don't need that, get the Apple adapter. If you do, get this. It ain't rocket science.

The Apple adapter is a USB-C to headphone adapter. It works with any device with USB-C audio output, not just Apple devices. And according to the headphone and budget audiophile forums, it has a pretty good DAC inside.

This adapter has headphone out and a mic in, though. So, if that's something you need, this is obviously a better option. If you just need audio out, though. The Apple adapter is a good choice.
