Are they too wide, or thin? I'm not familiar with them.

What don't you like? It's Gibson's slim taper with a satin matte finish that, while not perfectly smooth due to being open pore, is certainly not sticky at all.

I agree. The worst case would be a pickup upgrade, but these are pretty good out of the box.

Beware that these could be floor models shipped from GC stores with random boxes and dust/scratches all over the places. I got a floor model in previous deal.

A little chunky but far from unmanageable (my hands are small).

I have an original Traditional Pro (no number) gold top and it's a pretty nice guitar for this price. As with any guitar, get a case for this one.

Oh wow, it's being sold as new, where you able to return or get a discount?

They'll eventually correct it; no promises it's easy. You can also, I think, work with your assigned MF rep to get one fulfilled in a sealed box. This is a Guitar Center/Musicians Friend exclusive model, so price matching elsewhere isn't an option.

359 is a really good deal for these. They play and sound fantastic, and they look great. Build quality was really nice on everyone I've ever played. A lot of pro players use these and upgrade the pickups later

The only reason I don't own one of these is that I found my Standard Plustop Pro for $300 out the door at a pawn shop. (I was absolutely taken in by the beautiful blue top.) There's not much to complain about on the "serious" Epiphone models, except for the headstock not being a Gibson, although the Epiphone one is stronger and has a straighter string pull. Once you start rocking, no one will care about the headstock.

Yes I got a decent discount through online chat. Usually you can check the same model on GC website and if it says limited stock then it's mostly guaranteed to be a floor model shipped from a GC store. Even if there's no such wording, a GC store near by could be automatically assigned for the order due to lower shipping cost. The MF order -> GC shipment happened each single time with my recent guitar orders.

And to be fair, the "new" condition is not totally wrong per their specs, as they would only call a sold and/or returned gear "used" or "refurbished". All floor models, as long as they are never officially sold to a customer before, even if fairly beaten up, would still be considered as "new", and sometimes "blemished" but also "new".

Gc does this all the time. When you try to return it they will offer you a discount to keep it.
