You could, but why would you want too? You can install Zorin on virtual box on any computer/cheap hardware. No need to spend money on a perfectly good hardware/OS combo like this.

I agree with this comment, so much less hassle when it's delivered right to your door.

Obviously by know you have realized how wrong this comment is. I'm not an Apple FanBoi but I do have the ability to use Google and a basic 7th grade understanding of how business works. They, and every major business, pay taxes. If the business has a good CFO they can make that number appear small on a balance sheet. Remember, as a public for-profit company their only obligation is to the shareholders and they have a responsibility to maximize those returns.

Anyway, remember that you'll need to also buy a monitor, keyboard and mouse to go with this thing.

Just wanted to confirm. So choose edu for apple and then it will accept a non edu email?
Yep. Just make the purchase through this link:
https://www.apple.com/us-edu/shop...ac-mini/m4

I just used my existing iCloud account, no .edu email or verification necessary. The order might remain stuck on processing for a while, so just be patient.

My dude, if Apple turned their back for a second I'd just take it.

I can confirm Best Buy price matched with free shipping, even though my "local" Micro Center did not offer shipping and is ~ 1 hour away

I got a Mac Mini and a Crucial 1TB external SSD from the link below, both with price matching at Best Buy. I also received AppleCare+ for upto 24 months being a Best Buy Total Member.

I set up the external SSD as my main drive using the YouTube video linked below. Hope it helps!

I have the M1 version and like the fact it supports several USB types which this one doesn't. That said, I played with it at the Apple store and its a real speed demon though mine is no slouch when compared to SATA based systems..Regardless this is indeed a great deal though there aren't any stores in my area
all you need is just a tiny lil usb-C to usb-A hub $7-9 USD..and you are set..this is not a dealbreaker.

LMAOLMAO I'm not thrilled with the idea of "abusing" the EDU discount, and I'm not planning to. But I really like how you put it. I feel that objectively you're 100% correct. They'll do whatever it takes to continue enriching themselves at the expense of quite literally anything. The environment, peoples lives (as we've seen with the recent focus on healthcare in the US), human dignity, etc. etc. It's definitely interesting to think about.

I should probably make some comment about the "deal" LOL. Quite tempting, but a 256GB SSD... For as long as these machines stay relevant due to CPU etc, 256GB is sh*t. And is pretty craptostic also. I say that as someone who went from 14" M1 Pro with 16GB to an M3 Max with 36GB. SO much better. Hardly ever using swap now.

Mac mini is actually one of the best value/ quality computer now. No need to buy other computers if it can run multiple systems, although there are limitations when using virtual machines

Why do people repeat flagrantly incorrect talking points?
