You could, but why would you want too? You can install Zorin on virtual box on any computer/cheap hardware. No need to spend money on a perfectly good hardware/OS combo like this.

I have gigabit Internet (FIOS) and can get 2 gb/350Mb cable if I wanted that.

More than 85% of US residents have access to gigabit+ Internet speeds. Anyone with Xfinity that has the 1200Mb tier is limited by gigabit.
Downloading a single file that you want to send to an external NAS will *easily* cause downloads to fail, as the NIC can't cope with the up/down traffic, even with full duplex.

They sell tens of millions of NAS devices per year but sure… 99.9% of people won't use them.
With Comcast, you'll reach your download cap in 2.5 hours fully saturating a gigabit connection.

For me, this. 8GB RAM is starting to feel tight on my base M1 Air. Think any Mac with only 8GB would have to drop to about $450 for me to feel comfortable with the purchase given the recent base model increase to 16GB.

laptop vs. desktop, your choice.

If it'll sit on a desk nearly all the time, this is way better than the m3 air.

Anyone try using this with an eGPU?
Why do you need eGPU when there is already a great capable GPU inside m4 and has access to 16GB unified memory and the SSD. You can load up a deepseek r1 distilled 14B models at ease in memory and not use any of those hosted chatBot AI interface. I am talking from my experience with a m1 macbook air and a 64GB Macbook pro m1 max (this can load up a 70B model). An nvidia 4070 Super GPU has only 12GB VRAM. This has 16GB.

I picked this up from Micro Center yesterday to replace my aging tower (3770k, 16gb 1080) and wow what an upgrade. Thank you slickdeals.

I have the M1 version and like the fact it supports several USB types which this one doesn't. That said, I played with it at the Apple store and its a real speed demon though mine is no slouch when compared to SATA based systems..Regardless this is indeed a great deal though there aren't any stores in my area
Different types, as in this one only has USB-C ports? They are all compatible. Just buy an adapter for a couple dollars if you don't already have one around. I have several in a drawer that I got with various devices through the years, including a couple Apple ones. Or buy a few cables – USB-C to Micro USB, USB-C to Lightning or whatever you need for your devices.

. Thanks..I'm going to stick with the M1 for now since it operates very nicely and I like Vaydeer the vertical dock with ports and a space for more storage

I picked one of these up from local microcenrer, and this M4 mini has been blazing fast 4K video processing on Final Cut Pro with 3rd party plugins. I was holding out on upgrading my 2016 MacBook Pro until Apple puts OLEDs in 2026 MBP, but $499 is such a good value for this compute power.

Just picked one up yesterday. Pretty happy so far. I'm able to use it with my older Targus dock that I use for my work laptop, just need to swap the thunderbolt cable. Will probably purchase a thunderbolt switcher so I can just press a button to swap machines. FYI you can stack the 25 off 100 coupon in store

Just priced match with Best Buy and got 2 year Apple care.
Wouldn't it be great if we could just reference your deal, and they would match. Rather than going through all the machinations I am sure you had to go through to get this deal / match?

Is there an easy way to do this? Thanks!

What do you mean? I just picked mine today and have a TB4 dock connected to one rear port (drives two displays over usb-c from the dock and a 2.5gb ethernet dongle)

Second tb4 port on rear is driving a third display over usb-c to DP

Third tb4 port on rear is going to a tb4 nvme enclosure

All of this is working fine but I've only had it running for 6 hours..
The issue is with directly-connected USB-C devices randomly disconnecting if plugged in to the rear TB ports on the M4-based Mac mini. There are threads about the problem on the Apple Support Forum site, MacRumors Forum and Reddit. Caveat emptor ...
