In case you are serious it is a company who's owner started and mastered the deal of the day with woot. Then woot was purchased by Amazon. Then after the contracted cooldown the ex owner of woot created meh.

Just a heads up, these are riveted. The handles will loosen over time. Great brand with a good reputation, but not their highest quality offering.

Calphalon used to offer a lifetime warranty, I know they reduced it recently with their nonstick pans, not sure about these... warranty process was a bit painful due to not having clear instructions and only being able to add one photo per question to demonstrate the situation, but my claim was processed quickly and 12 years later I got a bunch of new pans to replace my old ones that warped or handle rivets loosened up.

I see this is the select series and no the premier. Still worth it?
Just judging from the pic, this looks like a downgrade from the premier.

The premier is fully 3 ply for the entire pot/pan. These selects look like they're the cheaper "disc bottom" designs where only the bottom is 3 ply and the sides are single ply.

I would avoid. Spend a little more on a fully tri-ply set.

I have an older set of this brand and it has held up very well. Purchased from Costco probably over 20 years ago. They take a beating and it cleans up well or use a little bar keepers to keep it clean and shinny.

I have the premier set. I like them, but my partner finds them too heavy.

I don't know how good these basic set of pans are but I have the premier line which also is advertised as space saving. They're quite heavy and it's taken several years to get to the point where I may consider replacing some of the pans or just getting a whole new set. Most of them are in great condition just the often used stuff has worn a bit over time. I've had my set of premier calpbalons for about 6-7 years. So I'm very happy with them

I spent the better part of a day researching these...this is a line that is no longer in production, as best I can tell its a lower end line. Premier and Signature are their higher end lines. It's strange because if you read their reviews everyone talks about how high quality they are, and the handles DO look high quality, which normally I would think means....its high quality. However I cant find ANY information about its construction so not worth the risk. All in all I would rather look at something like cuisinart multiclad pro or tramontina

its stainless steel, there's not really any wearing on it unless it's pitting or warping....which premier should not be doing. It sounds like you just need to order some barkeepers friend

I couldn't find a "Select" and "Space-Saver" SS set on Calphalon's website, only a 10 pc set of "Premier" stackable SS set, could this be described wrong or a discontinued model?

We have these. Ours are currently 2 years old and have had 0 issues and we cook often.

Only downside I could think of is the edges are a little sharp but it's never been an actual problem.

Would buy again if I was looking.

If anyone's looking for an alternative, tramontina makes some really great value tri ply steel. Costco has a 12 piece set for $200 right now.
