Since supplements aren't regulated how do we know we're getting what we're supposed to get?

purchase a product that is GMP certified. These products are audited by 3rd parties and the sometimes the FDA for manufacturing traceability (but NOT efficacy).

You never fully know but many people prefer to go with USP certified ones or more reputable brands such as Kirkland, NOW, Life Extension, Sports Research, Swanson, Jarrows, Pure Encapsulations, Nootropics Depot, Momentous, Throne etc.

Depends on the dosage. I suspect many people wouldn't have an issue if the daily dosage was say 100-200mg of citrate.
