Wow, I remember playing this as a kid, I beat all the Dungeons spent hours during my summer playing I didn't make it to the end though can't remember why now it's many decades ago... I think I ended up "going outside" playing with my neighbors and school friends more. Nostalgic, but I don't have the time to play through I'd love to see the ending. Perhaps it taught me some problem solving skills and helped me build an imagination to explore more as a child. I tried to just use my memory, but I had to have a notebook at some pt Smilie Thank you for sharing this game has a special place in my heart. I think i'll get it since it's FREE ha!

A classic masterpiece. Rarely an open world game that doesn't even have a villain. Loving the concept and story. U5 following it actually just as good, if not better.

That's what you need to play U7. This was 8 Mhz 286 with 512 kB. With the EGA monitor (E is for Enhanced!). Comes with Preachy Virtues!

Don't forget to get the Ultima patcher, or something similar to get some modern quality of life improvements.

It works for many of the Ultima games and isn't hard to use.

Evidently ScummVM now supports it natively with enhancements too.

XU4 . free remaster for Ultima 4. improved graphic and soundtrack . IMO is a must to play Ultima 4.

Can you still hex edit your character stats to have FF strength and dexterity so you can kill anything including guards with just a dagger, and steal anything with impunity?

I reached the end twice and failed the final task or quest/quiz of whatever it was. That 2nd time stung really badly!!

Even in its day this was a tough sell to a lot of players. My first foray in to Ultima were the questionable NES versions. Love the series, though. I would love to see the final trilogy remade somehow, except the last time anyone showcased that it was cancelled fast.
