The Gel-Nimbus 26 is finally back on sale! I've been waiting since LAST January for a good sale on these, and I saw an ad for the 27 last night, which meant the old models are on sale again! This price is from 3rd party sellers. If you prefer to buy direct from Asics, they're $119.99, both on Amazon and on Asics site.

Looks to be the time to get them. The $110 price is around at other resellers too. Thanks for tripping my deal alert OP!

They were $15 cheaper a couple weeks ago. So you might want to wait

I admit it's probably that I'm entering an older stage in my life, but unless they are a pair of boots, I'm finding myself not wanting to break the $100 barrier for sneakers, especially with sales that happen.

A nice pair of shoes or boots, over $100 is acceptable. $100+ sneakers though....these seem to be for cruising the supermarkets and Costco in my area, which is mostly where I see them.

I do own a pair of blue/peach Nimbus 25's lol.

I'm prepared for the shunning.

How do people feel about these vs nimbus 25s? I love the 25s and overbought them when I could get them for 100-110

How do these 25/26 compare to NB 1080?

I have all 3 so here's my take:

25 is great but the 26's foam is a bit softer and outsole has more traction (great for trips where you aren't always in the city). I got the 25 for $80 vs $110 for the 26. I returned the 25 simply because it's too similar. Also, the wide version I got on the 26 was super comfortable.

These max cushioned shoes are incredible. During a recent trip, I walked about 30k steps in one day with the 26. I probably couldn't do it with my Ultraboosts. I got the silver colorway in this deal, which got a bit dirty from frequent use. Might buy a darker one later as the toes on my 26 ripped a little from hitting rocks (hiking around national parks).

I got the NB 1080 (for less than $80 on a deal) to try out softer cushion. It was definitely softer and more bouncy, but I got the regular width version and kinda miss the extra room (and the pull tab). That said, my wide 26 is a bit bulky, especially when I need to cross my legs sitting or reclining in the theater. That's another reason I got the 1080 in regular. It's a trade off so I'm cycling between both shoes. When I don't want the bulk, I go back to my Ultraboost DNA 5.0.

I only bought UBs for a while because they are light, look good, provide good support & cushion, and are breathable. Max cushioned shoes take cushioning to the next level, but many aren't as breathable. The 26 improves a bit on the 25 in this department. I find the 1080 to be a bit less breathable than the 26.
Also, max cushioned shoes give you like an extra inch of height so there's that 😁.

Hope that helps.

I don't have a time machine but I think I paid like $65 for my Nimbus 25's, so yeah, $100+ for these is a no from me.

I agree, they may be a bit cheaper later but since that $95 deal was a rarity and only lasted for about 12 hours it's probably going to be a crapshoot and selection sketchy. I went to Zappos and used a 10% newsletter credit and got a decent color, so new normal I think.

Although they were $15 cheaper, most in wide size were sold out especially in the nicer colors. Wide is usually never in stock for all black so I decided to bite the bullet and get this deal

That used to be me as well but now plantar fasciitis has pushed me into a whole new price bracket.

Plantar Fasciitis has got me too.
Nimbus 26 or the Bondi 8 that's on sale?

The Nibus 26 IMO definitely has more "feel" in the ball of foot it is softer and has more flex. Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing for PF.
