You used to be able to redeem the BOGO through the drive thru, so long as you wrote the code on the receipt and gave it to them,

And like you said, if the drive through is a hit or miss, maybe it's better to just walk inside to order?
you can push for it with the manager. but the same incompetent manager would say we d take the coupon this time as a courtesy. we dont have to honor it.
the end? the cashier will laugh at you. the managers still collecting his bonus. enjoying his beer after he gets home. the corps still pushing us to fill the surveys. printed directly from their own pos. and the store keeps refusing it. make you look like a fool in the line. or a homeless asking for some free food.
But it really helps when they introduce sandwiches like the Grand Mac and ones that are like $9 per sandwich (mind you, I live in a state where the cost of living is based around a $7.25/hr. wage and so that is pretty steep).
The one time I was given bad service was at a Rally's. Rally's, you do the receipt survey and they give you a QR code by email. If a location does not have a scanner, tough. The gal was asking me if I had a coupon, something I could give to her or print out. I was like "No, this is from corporate" and she thought I was actually doing something criminal. Lol.
Now days Rally's does some good offers through their app and so I never did the surveys again after that. I almost felt like I had to call to cops on her over the amount of ruckus she made.
