1,000 points are worth about $8. (a $200 per night hotel is about 25,000 points)
As a lifetime gold at Marriott, I can tell you the bonus qualifying night to reach gold staus is almost worthless. Platiunum is requried (50 nights per year) to get lounge access or breakfast.
Hilton and Hyatt are running double points right now.
also check your amex offers. I have the folowing on my cards:
spend $400 get $100 back in statement credit x4
spend $500 get $100 back in statement credit x3
spend $250 get $50 back in statement credit x3
spend $1000 get $250 back in statement credit Marriot Homes And Villas x3
It wasn't working for me on my laptop browser. Promotion was stating unavailable. However, the Marriott App was showing the promotion was available, so registered. Thanks!
I have a stay already booked but it's within the period. Will it count if I register after I booked it?
In past years, as others mentioned, as long as you are registered before the stay, you will be fine and you will get your points and your elite night(s) They arent gross like the airlines which make you need to do the actual reservation after enrolling. Hate that!
To the OP, thanks for posting this. Since they robbed people of the nights most credit card holders get at the beginning of the year this year, this will help catch us back up!

What is this about? I see a 15 night credit to my account just like every year; are they getting rid of that?
Curious if this would work if booking through my work's travel booking portal. It says:
"only for stays booked through Marriott Channels and other Qualifying Channels which include, but are not limited to: Marriott Websites, the Mobile Apps, Participating Properties, and the Customer Engagement Centers."
Hoping it falls in the latter two categories. Guess we'll find out.

Is Hilton a better deal for me or the Marriott ? I'm a lifetime gold and titanium for this year .
I feel like Hilton points are useless

It might just be certain cards. For sure Marriott Bonvoy Bold card, Starting 7/11/2024 cardholders will receive 5 Elite Night Credits every calendar year, not 15 like they did before. Additional changes include moving travel earning from 2x/$ to 1x/$.
"Pretty cool change" said nobody. When I logged in for the first time in January 2025, I had 5 nights, where in past years, I had 15

Dang that sucks hard. I guess I've got a regular Bonvoy card since I didn't see that change.
They did this sameish promo last year. If you really care about status you can find some rando hotels in the middle of nowhere (Dakotas) and book a ghost stay just to capture nights and points.
I am Titanium this year but lifetime Platinum; they don't offer lifetime Titanium any more. I would have made ambassador but didn't spend enough ($23,000) despite having more than enough nights.
How do you do the ghost stay? Or is it as simple as booking a room and then checking in via the app with a hotel that supports the app as a key?

It has nothing to do with this promotion, which is a global one that is pretty much active for almost all Marriott properties worldwide.
