Anyway, if your goal is retro gaming, a Raspberry Pi is smaller and more energy-efficient for these types of tasks, but honestly, once you add in a case, a good power supply (RPi's are picky with respect to power...), and storage, it is probably at the same price or even more than this $130 machine. But if you are interested in more modern gaming or more powerful emulation, this system would be better and give you more flexibility for future upgrades.
Just saying buyers might want to read up.

I have a related question. Would this be better than a 2013 Mac Pro 6,1 (trashcan) for productivity apps? Not home lab or gaming use but office work and occasional video/photo/sound editing?

The Skymont cores in Arrow Lake offer huge IPC increases over the Gracemont cores in Alder Lake-N, so it was disappointing that this "Twin Lake" refresh (the N150, etc) is making us wait at least a year for something better.

However we are getting our first indications of something a lot better to replace it in the future. Wildcat Lake is a supposed 2 P-core, 4 LPE-core product. Bringing P-cores to this segment would mean massive single-thread performance increases, and Darkmont LPE-cores could be as good as low-clocked Golden Cove. On the 18A node, it would still be power efficient. If they go with Xe2-LPG, they can probably deliver +50-100% graphics performance with ease.

That old high end Mac is still probably then going to be 2-4x times as powerful as this bargain basement mini computer.
EDIT : Looks like I was mistaken and I was a generation off on the Xeon used. That old Mac pro is closer to same performance level as this mini.

I've read this info several places:
TDP of n100 is 6W. TDP of n150 is 10W. TDP of n97 is 12W.
n150 is fastest CPU.
n97 is fastest GPU.
Interestingly, Intel doesn't mention TDP, but rather PBP, which Intel says is an equivalent:

I'm guessing the N150 is a slightly overclocked N100 & probably will use more power over time, but it will be minimal.

Intel's "TDP" bs has been lies since day 1. They 're processors always go higher than they say.

I've got an old 16gb ddr4 stick from a retired laptop as well as a small nvme stick (sometimes these little minipcs come with a sata SSD) .. and the N97 is definitely more powerful, but at the cost of more power consumption:

also, uses barrel plug. I bought a different n100 with a type c pd charger. easier to mount behind a TV.
