Not a good price.
I'm interested to know why if I make a pick up order with Grubhub for $20+ with my Amex Gold Card, get $5 back with my offer, then $10 back from the card's monthly dining credit, twice, it's not a good deal. Please advice.

I've found that restaurants raise the prices by about 20% on grubhub. An $8 burger on a local place's website was $10.50 on grubhub. So, at least for pickup, the $5 isn't getting you much.

So, if I order $20+ pickup from a restaurant that has the same prices on Grubhub as in store, I'm not ahead if I get $15 back?

Okay. Then, every AMEX cardholder does not have every AMEX offer available on every card . I'll just use my own Gold card then.

$15 off $20 IS a good deal. But the deal this thread is about is only getting $5 back for spending $20. Not everyone has the Amex Gold card and can get the $10 back. I don't even see the spend $20 get $5 back on my Cash Preferred card. How about YOU have some consideration for other people who don't have the same card as you. And with the inflated prices and fees, you really need to be getting $10 or $15 off of $20 to be getting a good deal. And if you're going to say pick it up to avoid the delivery fees, not everyone has a car. Do you understand now?

Thanks, OP! This is a great deal if one uses GrubHub. Having said that GrubHub had become a really bad service provider in the last few years...

Something I try to always do when ordering from GrubHub is first check the price ordering direct from the restaurant. I've found around 50% of restaurants jack up prices so it's just a matter of finding the ones who don't. Goal should always be to pay the same or less than ordering direct at the restaurant if you want the deal to be slick.

Cool. Added to Gold card. $5 offer credit, then $10 monthly credit.

Are you referring to the $10 Monthly Resy credit? Would that work though? Wouldn't GrubHub be the charge to trigger the $5 off $20 and for the $10 off doesn't it have to be a restaurant in the Resy network to trigger?

Delivery apps are a scourge. John Oliver detailed it well: https://youtu.be/aFsfJYWpqII?si=lU59TUn5laHL7bmg
