The Ryobi is great, I use it often in Eastern WA where temps drop into the 20's. That said, ALL of my tools are Ryobi so I have an abundance of Ryobi batteries where I'm able to swap them around. A single 4mah battery lasts several hours (4-5hrs) and it's nice not having a cord running to an outlet.

Thank you for the Home Depot link.. looks like the Tractor Supply Co also comes with 10 ft. Hose and Regulator per the description but the Amazon does not seem to include them.

Ignoring price, is there any reason to get this over the ryobi hybrid 80k btu model? I like the idea of being able to run the ryobi on batteries if needed. But if this is significantly higher quality, I'd go this route.

I'd of gotten the Ryobi if the rest of my tools were Ryobi. I got this one about a month ago, it works great. Physically bigger than I'd like for storage reasons

Do you mean the unit itself lasts longer or that diesel burners are more efficient?

Diesel burners are normally much lower output than this, hence why they last so much longer. I think if you find a Diesel burner that does 60k BTU, it would burn roughly the same amount of gallons of propane per day as this.

confused here also. thought someone said 80k btu... not seeing anything from a Google search either so guessing it was a typo or misunderstanding.

Not sure this is a deal, also the same price at Menards. This is the regular price I bought it for at the beginning of winter. Works well, no complaints.

say what now? diesel / kerosene come in usually larger btu. 60k isn't that high. the big shops and other uses for these get oil based ones that are 200k plus often.

and oil based great sources will always burn less gallons than propane. it's a simple matter of the energy content in a gallon of diesel vs a gallon propane

a gallon is diesel fuel contains 137,381 BTUs if energy

a gallon of propane contains 91,452 BTUs of energy

I was considering this for my detached garage but I'm concerned about the worry of carbon monoxide. People say as long as you crack a door and leave the tank outside it is totally fine. Any experiences here, worth the trouble?
