If you are getting kitchenaid, try to get the one with 3rd rack. It may not be the same price.

My Kitchen Aid dishwasher 3rd rack also holds small cups. A 3rd rack helps not take up valuable space that could be used for larger items

5 minutes of hot water in an average tap is about 10 gallons of hot water.
Average dishwasher uses around 3.

This person is tripling their cost because they don't know how to Google.

Yeah I was excited about this - good sound levels - I then looked at the pics - no third rack. I do think this is beneficial in a dish washer. Many items I have should lay down flat due to length. I usually try to shove them into knooks and crannies today.

Just curious, why the 3rd rack?

As others have commented, its for cups and knifeware. Small bowls as well. It saves so much space if you have a family of 4 or more.If you are just 2 people, you dont need the 3rd rack much. Again its a personal preference as you can see 2 people liked my comment, 2 rejected. 3rd rack is helpful for people who loads the dishwasher once a day. If not have to run twice as the cups and bowls takes most of the space in the top rack if there are only 2.

Nevertheless, its a good discount and good deal. But if you can buy from Costco, the price includes, installation and haul away of old dishwasher. With this one, the price is not factored in.

This deal only has haul away for 50$ more and no installation option. Many would say its easy to install. So its up to you to decide.

Installation $188 bucks and up.

When we last replaced our dishwasher, the wife and I debated about spending a bit more to get the KitchenAid model that included the third rack. On ours, there really isn't much vertical space on the top (third) rack, so it's only good for flat items (don't think we could get even a small cup there, for example), but I'm still surprised by how useful it is; we use it all the time. Just FWIW.

I take out that small plastic utensil holder that takes up 1/3 of the top rack and put all the smaller cups, bowls or bottle tops to wash. If I stagger the bowls/bottle tops, I can wash around 5 or 6 items. That 3rd rack can fit a surprising amount of stuff without overcrowding. As for utensils I usually use a smaller utensil holder in the bottom rack.

I don't think this is actually energy star certified.

https://www.energystar.gov/produc...rs/results

I checked the same product model number on the Lowe's website and it also said it was not Energy Star certified.

If you are eligible for any local rebates for buying Energy Star appliances, you are probably not going to get it with this product.
