Tmobile trade-in these days is useless. Go5G may get some benefits but if we can wait a little Samsung gives better price than TMobile. You will get it for less than $700 for Ultra without any trades unlocked.
24 months is better than 36 months other carries do now. However, I am absolutely sure I'll stay with them for 2 years when I have unlimited everything on 7 lines for $130/mo, not getting fleeced at all.
I would keep in mind that since the S23 series, Samsung deals haven't been as good. I kept track of S24U and even 2 weeks ago, it was on the FP of SD for ~$770.

https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/fp/1049727

In October 2024, there was a "popular" deal on SD for the regular S24 via Amazon and it was still $600:

https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/fp/1007514

The best deals on the Samsung website are for the Ultra and with EDU, so not everyone will qualify. The phone in OPs post is the regular S25.

Unless Samsung does something drastically different from the last 2 releases, I don't think the price will drop that much. It seems like they're trying more and more each year to be comparable to Apple in the US, which means keeping their prices at a "premium" level.

The days of upgrading at release for $100-$200 + freebies seem to be over, which is a huge bummer.

No EPP here. i logged into my simple choice plan to see what my pixel 7 (128 gb) would be worth. I would have to add a line but after i enter in the trade it says
"

$799.99* Estimated total promotional savings
with trade-in

Trade-in value without promotion is $110.00

*Based on what we know about your device today. The final promotional value will be determined after we receive your device and confirm its condition.

Trade-in value
One-time bill credit once device is received by T-Mobile $110.00

Recurring promotional value Credit paid out over 24 months $689.99

Total Savings $799.99"

Wish i could skip adding a line and just transfer my current number

So with simple choice they don't have an option for upgrading at the $500 trade-in value?

Mine says can't service the plan and to call T-Mobile. I was planning to upgrade, but TMO charges tax on full amount and I'm not coughing up extra $50 for it
I spent 2 hours on the phone with t Mobile and Samsung last week trying to get someone to make this deal work with no luck. I have an old sprint account that was rolled over to t mobile and this seems to be a common issue. Upon further reading it sounds like old work discounts could be the issue but I haven't wanted to call back and waste another hour. Anyone get this to work on an old sprint account?

for those with non-Samsung phones to trade-in, like mine is a Google Pixel 6, it is better to go with TMobile directly though $50 more expensive.

Another thing to note for anyone not getting all the discounts and free accessories... I noticed I wasn't getting all the discounts when I first tried to do the deal, but after chatting with customer service I found out that my EPP didn't work anymore even though I had it before. Turns out I needed to create a new account with my work or school e-mail address. After doing that it worked perfectly.

Does the $500 trade-in not work on the samsung site? The benefits of doing it through samsung is that you get the EPP discount, the $50 pre-order promo and $10 for the the 256GB storage upgrade (normally around $60). Should be the same T-mobile promotion as long as you select a T-mobile phone.

The chase offer does say Exclusions ---trade in phone , so think you are better off with a T CB website which has 15%

Plan Magenta 1 Military . super old school

This is what I see , trading a SAMSUNG Galaxy A71 (5G) 128GB which is pretty crappy phone from 2020 :
Total estimated special offer bill credit: $250
One-time trade-in bill credit: $20
Remaining special offer bill credit $230 will be applied over 24 months..
When I get to the page where you login into T-Mobile I get : T-Mobile doesn't support your account type on Samsung.com. Please see the non-supported account types listed on the page.
I was thinking $520 is kinda of a lot for this phone anyways.

Do you have a samsung pre-order $50 email? Make sure you click on that if you have it.
Was the email from Samsung or T-Mobile? Is there a way to replicate this part of the deal, e.g. forwarded email, link from another source, etc.?

You had to sign up for the pre-order deal from Samsung. Honestly I have no idea if the email can be shared or if it's the same link for everyone. Can anyone else clarify?

Maybe try this link?

Ya unfortunately it's the tmobile locked version to get this deal. If you select unlocked then the best you get for trade in was whatever Samsung offers. It was like $200 for the s22. It'd be nice to have the unlocked version but not $300 worth of value. 😁

Too many T-Mobile locked phones in my drawer so gonna pass. Wish Samsung is like Apple when it comes to ordering with carrier deals as they offer unlocked even if going through carrier.
