What is this? A fire pit for ants? It's going to need to be at least twice this size.

That was a propane issue. Probably not going to explode with wood

Amazon had a recall on one of these tabletop fires not too long ago. It exploded and killed someone. I wouldn't go anywhere near one of these let alone buy one.
Not sure about the one in the news article mentioned by another commentor but I had one that was recalled that was alcohol only and was made out of ceramic (skull shaped). I gave it to my ex (no, not because it was recalled but...), I can see how they are dangerous because they get extremely hot. I do still have a tapletop one by Moda that I love and it is all stainless steel and never had an issue. I also have a Solo Stove Mesa XL we use for smores and the kiddo loves it. I like that one load of pellets gives you enough fire for time frame I need it for but I have not figured out how you can add pellets without it significantly affecting the flame to make it last longer.

Unfortunately the silver one is not 50% off on Amazon. Other colors are 50% off.

Good find though.

The thing that gets me more is "smokeless". I came to see what fuel it was using. Wood is smokeless now?
Quote from NatsuMatto :
If you buy into the Solo stove hype, the wood burns at a higher temp that supposedly eliminates smoke (and the holes in the side and the hollow nature of the stove also add to this effect somehow).
Quote from esurfer89 :
Yeah, thats how they work. Look it up. It reburns the initial smoke.
Smokeless is overstatement, like others have said. It could potentially reduced a lot of smoke.

This is due to secondary combustion. More air is drawn in, heated up, and exit at the top to burn the smoke (which contains unburned fuel in it).

I will doubt this little fire pit will give you secondary combustion. Because 1) temperature needs to be above 1000 degrees F for it to work, and you won't be able to burn enough wood in this small pit to reach that temp. and 2) I don't see any holes at the top from the pictures for the heated intake air to "jet" out on top of the fire.

If the burning wood is kept below the top rim, the smoke is incredibly reduced. Smokeless may be a little bit of an overstatement.
It should say Less Smoke, not Smokeless..

Not for me. Tax on net, after discount cost with Amazon.

Genuine question - what does somebody use this for? I see it's 7" across in size, or about the size of a 2 liter bottle/milk jug.

Is it just a fun little tabletop firepit?

No - it just means the additional venting on the top helps burn off the soot. Exactly what Solo does, and now a few other brands.

Is it just me or are the 3 reviews spewing a very strong smell of AI generated comment..
