For that reason, I like the Osprey Raptor 14 better. It's only about $20 more at REI, but it's bigger (14 liters) and also includes the water bladder.
I have a Raptor 14 as well as a Talon 22. I'd say the Raptor is a better pack for stuff like mountain biking, and the Talon is fine for hiking, especially since I got the larger, 22 liter version. But honestly both packs are pretty versatile for hiking/biking.
kindergartner 1/2 size book bags are 10-14l and they fit a lunchbag and a pair of tikes shoes
a gallon jug of milk is .25 cubic feet and this is .38
