Try changing stores. If it's on clearance at that specific store, Under the price on the right side, there will be an upside down yellow triangle that says "See In-Store Clearance Price"
Even if it shows though, you have to go to that store and buy in-persoln.

If you are in north NJ, go to the Riverdale HD off of Route 23. They have 7 when I left. And speak with the staff as they aren't placed where their system shows (clearance end cap). Instead, they are in the tools isle on the rack.

All things considered, the Makita set will likely serve you better as it is more compact and you don't care about the packout system compatibility. The bit selection in this kit is (imo) better, but this deal is harder to get and the storage is not as good if you just want to throw something in a toolbox/bag.
Thanks. That's the way I was leaning as well. I also heard the Makita XPS are really good quality.

Thanks bud! Found 3 of them at that location up high in the racks above the pack out stuff aisle 11. Waited 10+ min for help, got impatient so climbed up myself and got one. There's 2 left. I put them on the shelf with the organizers (low profile, compact, etc) best of luck

I really don't need the packout kit. I'm not going anywhere with them.
Makita looks good.

This deal is really about the case. All my tools are Makita, but this case is awesome on its own.Tuff & rugged, won't get lost, and stackable

I'm getting same day free delivery from my local Home Depot lately, even smaller $10 purchases. YMMV

Only reason to buy this set is the packout box… otherwise, it's overpriced for the bit selection you get.
Skip it if you aren't in or aren't going to be in the "ecosystem", it's a waste.

The website will show that price. It's subtle but look through the product page and you'll see it say it's on clearance at the store you're currently shopping at. If that store doesn't have it on clearance then you'll have to check other locations until you find one that shows exactly what they have in stock or limited stock in the part where you would click for pick up in store. There will be a link to see the clearance price so you can check if that store has it for the OPs price. YMMV

I just made the switch from Milwaukee to the xps bits, which I have used the heck out of for the last 7 years. I've noticed the last few replacements I have bought even though the price has went up.they dont seem to last as long. Lot of shattered /broken bits.
Decided to try something different.
The Makita xps are a better designed bit.
The case is night and day better. It's actually usable, the bit holders are marked for identification which is a neat touch.
My only thing I noticed is that the bead blasted tips on the Milwaukee do grip better .
The Makita are very smooth, remind me a lot of the Irwin and snap on bits I have.
They do need more pressure to bite solid in to the fastener.

Makita. I have pretty much all of the kits and the ones you linked are always the ones I go for. They just seem to slip less

Haha I was about to use that but someone would have caught me moving it. Luckily it wasn't too high

I bought this the same price a year ago. The $99 original price is totally wrong. It was a sale that HD was having.
