Higher ph water personally helps reduce symptoms of GERD like acid reflux and there are studies that back this up

https://www.uclahealth.org/news/a...-heartburn

So if you have aggravated gerd symptoms then drinking normal ph water can make it worse. Drinking alkaline won't. The other claims idk but this is a real benefit.

Be like Gwyneth Paltrow and add lemon to your alkaline water.

it's not, alkaline water is a scam. the PH of alkaline water is quickly neutralized by the acid in the stomach which has many many orders of magnitude more H+ than the alkaline waters OH-.

furthermore if you try to change the ph of your body ie blood stream, you can't. Your PH is carefully controlled by your body and if it changes slightly you can get very very sick or die. If your blood pH goes up by even 0.1 that is called metabolic alkalosis and is life threatening.

(taking a couple of Tums for acid reflux not withstanding LOL)

Alkaline water simply doesn't do anything.

Likely minimal benefits, however this price (75 cents or so per 1L bottle) is extremely low for a "premium" water bottle. If you bought a bottle at a store you'd likely pay $3-4 per bottle. This is a luxury and not a necessity, but a good price for a luxury.

Get a reverse osmosis system and you'll never have to buy bottled water again.

I got a 6 stage RO with a mineral/alkaline filter on the last stage for around $125 on sale. It paid for itself in a few months, the water tastes just as good or better than bottled water, no more carrying cases of bottled water home from the store and no more dealing with the trash from the empty bottles.

The benefits of alkaline water (above 7ph, 7ph is neutral) is real but overhyped by some people. The studies are relative to acidy water (under 7ph). It's common sense and of course drinking non-acidy water (alkaline, above 7ph) will give you less heartburn than acidy water (under 7ph). The same as eating acidy vs non-acidy foods. I have had less heartburn drinking the alkaline water (8ph) that my RO system makes.
