Folks at Reddit.....That says it all. There are knowledgeable people with hundreds ,maybe thousands of speakers auditioned over their life. Steve G said these are some of his favorites he's ever auditioned. So...does that mean I'm buying em'...maybe. I'll audition them before I make a statement on their sound. The reason, everyone is different..

Generally the Reference Premier line are pretty good, on discount. I have the towers and center speaker of this same series and love the sound on them.

That is quite old and as you can see their one exception is this reference premiere line (RP series), which is this speaker series.

Specifically for mainly home theater as the use case, not much can touch these at this sale price in my opinion.

I would never buy for MSRP pricing but for these prices, I'm ok with the product vs. price point at $299. Erin's Audio Corner has a fair review of thes measurements of these at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrAmNbOJsa0&t=2s

Great price. You will probably need heavy duty speaker stands.

Same here I normally hate the tin-like sound of budget klipsch speakers but the Reference Premier sounds really good. Specifically I have the RP-8000F towers which tbh are amazing paired with RP-504C center channel.

This vs RP-160M. I heard the 160s are more refined in terms of harsh treble.

"Harsh Treble" is something older Klipsch were more known for. I put it in quotes because it was more just "treble heavier" than most comparable speakers, which may sound harsh to some. Their newer lines such as these 600 series toned that down, plus with these II series refined the midrange as well.

160Ms have been discontinued for many years now though.

I own these and think they sound great. Please keep in mind they are horn tweeters, but they aren't harsh. Think of it as half a decibel 'louder' of a tweeter than many dome tweeters. This helps them be lively and dynamic, which is especially great for acoustic music, voice, guitar, piano, and movie soundtracks.

If you're going to watch 5 hours a day of TV shows on them, the horn tweeter "can" (not to everyone though) start to be too much.

Copper-driver Klipsch are budget lines whether R or RP. Naturally there's a price point where these start looking good by comparison to other new speakers in the bookshelf range.
Nvm. Looks like you're saying both R and RP are budget lines. Copper driver has nothing to do with it as their RF series also has those.
