there is no reason any of these spices should have sugar in it. if you are on keto, you have to read every label. companies add sugar to everything.

Those added sugars in rubs are just there to round out the flavor. It's usually very little sugar.

Yep. When you see people on cooking shows talking about seasoning things or something being under-seasoned they are almost always referring to a lack of salt combined something else missing.

The problem with dietary sodium comes less from salt added while seasoning freshly cooked foods and more from the salt and various sodium-containing preservatives and additives in processed and prepared foods.

Obviously one should be cognizant of how much salt is in a seasoning before adding more salt, but typically the kinda of food these are added to would be salted otherwise. If the blend is too salty for your liking, that's another story.

That said, I often prefer salt-free seasoning so I can use less salt while cooking and add my own flakey finishing salt later.
